Girl, 13, confesses to helping paedo boyfriend kill mum and stuff body in fridge

A 13-year-old girl has confessed to helping her boyfriend kill her mum before stuffing her body into a fridge.

The horror murder came after the mother, Flavia dos Santos Carneiro, had tried to stop the couple moving in together. The teen daughter told police she held her mum down while her 22-year-old partner stabbed her after she hit her during a heated row.

She then sent WhatsApp messages to her mum’s work colleagues saying she was sick to stop them worrying about her whereabouts. But a van driver raised the alarm when the alleged killer’s dad hired him to move the fridge four days later and dump it in woods - telling him he was simply throwing old domestic appliances out.

Her dead body was later found by police inside the fridge. The crime has sent shockwaves through Maceio, the capital and largest city of the Brazilian coastal state of Alagoas. Police said Flavia’s teenage daughter had confessed to the killing on Tuesday, and that she had helped her boyfriend clean up the crime scene.

Police chief Thiago Prado revealed the boyfriend had also confessed, and said the victim’s daughter "held her arms down and passed the knife to him before he stabbed her in the head, neck and chest." He said of their confessions: “We didn’t detect regret or see any tears. The daughter sent WhatsApp messages to Flavia’s work colleagues saying she wouldn’t be in because she felt unwell and was going to the doctor’s."

The killer has meanwhile been described as a drug user who Flavia had banned from her home. Police say they believe the argument had started because her daughter had told her she planned to move out and go and live with her boyfriend. Local reports said the victim had been stabbed more than 20 times. In an interview with TV station TV Pajucara, Mr Prado said: “Initially the boyfriend alleged self-defence but his story fell apart because of the number of blows the victim received.”
