Former This Morning presenter Phillip Schofield could be plotting his return to our television screens.

The 61-year-old hit headlines last year after it emerged he had an "unwise but not illegal" relationship with a young showrunner from This Morning. He subsequently stood down from all his roles on ITV and was dropped by the Prince's Trust and his talent agency, YMU.

He later apologised for the affair, adding: "I am painfully conscious that I have lied to my employers at ITV, to my colleagues and friends, to my agents, to the media and therefore the public and most importantly of all to my family. I am so very, very sorry, as I am for having been unfaithful to my wife."

On March 6, it was revealed his daughter Molly quit her role at YMU due to the "awkward" situation with her father. Since leaving the company, she has been acting as Phillip's publicist. It was also recently reported that she has been talking to the media about stories involving him.

A source recently told MailOnline: "As recently as three weeks ago she was negotiating with the British media about stories that had been published about her father, acting very much as his PR." According to her LinkedIn profile, Molly left the talent agency in January.

Former Dancing On Ice host Phillip has been keeping a low profile since the affair emerged last year. Meanwhile, he is being supported by his adoring daughters, Molly, 30, and Ruby, 27, who he shares with his wife, Steph. Speaking about how "fiercely protective" the girls are over Phil, who came out publicly in 2020, a source says they will do "all they can to look after him".

"Alongside their mum, they’re the two people that have stuck by Philip through thick and thin - they wouldn’t dream of doing anything else," they told OK! magazine. "Their bond is as strong as ever. Ultimately, they’re fiercely protective, they love their daddy, they always will be and they’re going to help get him through this."

Last summer, Phillip admitted Molly and Ruby had saved him from a very dark place, saying he "wouldn't be here" without them. In an interview with The Sun, he stated he was in a "very bad way mentally," adding: "And if it hadn’t been for my girls last week I wouldn’t be here. I know I deserve it but they said, ‘Don’t you dare, we’re here to look after you’."

The former Dancing on Ice host added that his devoted daughters were "guarding him".
