Celebrity Big Brother may have only just begun - but it won’t be long before the ITV reality show concludes and is gone from the schedules.

The iconic reality series was revived this month by ITV following the successful resurrection of the civilian version of Big Brother - which was a ratings hit last year. On Monday night, TV fans watched as a string of stars entered the Big Brother house for what is essentially the 23rd season of the long-running show - but the first to air since it was cancelled by Channel 5 back in 2018, and the first season ever to air on ITV1.

Big stars including X Factor judges Louis Walsh and Sharon Osbourne, both 71, This Morning legend Fern Britton, 66, and Strictly Come Dancing hunk Nikita Kuzmin, 26, entered The Most Famous House In Britain to start an extended stay under 24hr surveillance. While the launch show saw host Will Best, 39, casually mention that some stars could stand to stay in the house for three weeks if they make it all the way to the final, a confirmed end date has now been unveiled for the series.

And it seems fans only have about two and a half weeks left to enjoy all the reality show drama - as the end date for the series is coming up very soon indeed. ITV bosses have now said that the show will ned and the winner will be announced on Friday 22 March.

Fans watching on Monday night saw that Sharon was tasked with judging all the other celebrities taking part in the show and she had to declare three of the stars as underwhelming. She settled on 58-year-old Gary Goldsmith, the uncle of Catherine, Princess of Wales, along with 30-year-old Ibiza Weekender star David Potts, and 34-year-old television host Zeze Millz.

The trio were then given a day to convince Sharon they were more interesting than their first impressions suggested - and she would then have to pick one of the three to face the public vote. In scenes that aired on Tuesday night, Sharon was called to the diary room where Big Brother declared: “It’s now time to decide which one of these Housemates will face the public vote which could lead to their eviction from the Celebrity Big Brother house. Sharon, please give the name of the housemate who will receive your nomination.”

Keeping her response to the point, Sharon declared: “The Housemate that I nominate is Gary.” He will now face the public vote along with at least one other star - with the public then tasked with voting which one to evict from the show. Earlier in the episode, Sharon and Gary had sat down for a heart to heart as she tried to decide who to put up for eviction.

She told him: So, we’re going to have a nice little chat Gary. Tell me why did you accept the offer to come into the house?” Gary told her: “It does bother me what the public perception of me is. The black sheep of the family. I’m a normal bloke. It just so happens that my niece married Will."

Celebrity Big Brother airs via ITV1 and ITVX nightly at 9pm.
