A mum charged with the murder of her 10-year-old daughter, whose body was found in Rowley Regis on Monday, has appeared in court.

Jaskirat Kaur was remanded in custody accused of killing Shay Kang, who was found with serious injuries at an address in the town around 12.10pm on Monday. The youngster, who attended Brickhouse Primary School was pronounced dead at the scene.

Kaur, also known as Jasmine Kang, 33, appeared at Wolverhampton Magistrates’ Court later today. She was dressed in a grey T-shirt and jogging bottoms, and spoke only to confirm her name and date of birth. She was ordered to appear for a further hearing at Wolverhampton Crown Court on Thursday.
