Boy, 11, suddenly dies in 'unexplained' circumstances sparking police probe
An 11-year-old boy has been found dead in mysterious circumstances.
The emergency services were called to an address in Lancaster, Lancashire, on Saturday where they found the youngster unresponsive. There had been reports of a sudden death. Tragically, he couldn't be saved and was later pronounced dead after being transferred to hospital.
Police have now launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident. Members of the public who believe they may be able to help officers are urged to get in touch. The boy's family is aware and are being supported by the force.
A Lancashire Police spokesperson said they received a request for assistance from colleagues in the ambulance service at 12.04pm yesterday. "The death is currently being treated as unexplained and the Coroner has been informed," said the spokesperson. A police investigation is ongoing and the boy’s family are being supported by officers and our thoughts are with the boy’s loved ones at this incredibly sad time. A spokesman for the North West Ambulance service told The Mirror: "We attended an address at Greenset Close following a 999 call at 12.20pm. Two ambulances, a critical care paramedic team in a helicopter and an operation commander were present at the scene. The patient was taken to hospital."
