Luis Enrique makes feelings clear on Kylian Mbappe after PSG transfer admission
Paris Saint-Germain boss Luis Enrique appears to have confirmed Kylian Mbappe will be leaving the club this summer.
Mbappe was the star of the show as PSG beat Real Sociedad 2-1 on Tuesday to book their place in the quarter-finals of the Champions League. The 24-year-old scored a brace as PSG won the tie 4-1 on aggregate.
Mbappe looks set to join Real Madrid next summer after informing PSG that he plans to leave the club when his contract expires at the end of the season. As a result, Enrique left Mbappe on the bench for PSG's 3-1 win over Lille last month and has not played him for the full 90 minutes in any of the following three league games.
And when asked about the forward's recent game time after the win over Sociedad, Luis Enrique admitted Mbappe "won't be here in the near future".
The PSG boss said: "Kylian, I'm not just discovering him today.
Hakim Ziyech brutally denied deadline day transfer as PSG furious at Chelsea"You already know my opinion on him: He's the best player in the world. He'll score 50 goals and provide 25 assists in any team with any coach and unfortunately he won't be here in the near future so we will have to test other teammates of his."
Mbappe also denied rumours of a rift with Enrique stemming from his recent lack of minutes, telling French broadcaster Canal Plus: "I always want to play in the Champions League — it is a very important competition.
"I could never be a player who hides. My relationship with the coach is good. There is no problem even if people might think that there is. I have many issues but the coach is not one of them."
Following his brace against Sociedad, former Real Madrid striker Michael branded Mbappe the "most dangerous player on the planet at the moment" and suggested he could almost single-handedly win PSG the Champions League.
"To win a Champions League you need some special players in your team," Owen told TNT Sports. "Paris Saint-Germain probably don't have enough of them to win it this season but if there is one man that could carry them to victory it's this guy.
"Probably the most dangerous player on the planet at the moment. He has absolutely everything, pace, skills, he scores bundles of goals, and he can single-handedly take a game away from the opposition."
