The FBI in Miami warned the public that a nefarious Iranian assassin was on the loose and targeting Donald Trump's Washington allies in a sick revenge plot.

Majid Dastjani Farahani is a wanted man by the FBI, who says he's the main suspect wanted in connection to "assassination targets" against public officials. Some of those current and past targets include members of Donald Trump's cabinet. Farahani is reportedly targetting these senior members of the US government in revenge for the 2020 killing of Qasem Soleimani, commander of Iran's Quds Force, an arm of the Revolutionary Guards.

Soleiman was killed by a US air strike at Baghdad airport in Iraq, ordered by then-President Donald Trump. Farahani, speaks Spanish and frequently moves between Iran and Venezuela, who's government is friendly with Iran.

Now, the Iranian government, which issued an arrest warrant for Donald Trump after the slaying of Solemani, a top commander in Iran's Islamist government, has put their revenge plan into motion.

According to the FBI, former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo and Brian Hook, Trump's envoy to Tehran, are the main targets. Both are now getting around-the-clock security.

When the bombing occurred in 2020, Trump explained it as taking action "to stop a war. We did not take action to start a war."

However, the Iranian government did not see it that way. It was "tantamount to opening a war," Majid Takht Ravanchi, Iran’s ambassador to the UN, told CNN’s Erin Burnett OutFront.

Iran then designated all US forces "terrorists," and its Revolutionary Guards leader has vowed to "take a hard and definitive revenge" over the assassination of General Qassem Soleimani. So far, the FBI has learned that this 'definitive revenge' is coming in the form of Majid Dastjani Farahani.

"Majid Dastjani Farahani, an Iranian intelligence officer, is wanted for questioning in connection with the recruitment of individuals for various operations in the United States, to include lethal targeting of current and former United States Government officials as revenge for the killing of IRGC-QF Commander Qasem Soleimani," the FBI stated.

"Farahani also reportedly recruited individuals for surveillance activities focused on religious sites, businesses, and other facilities in the United States," the FBI said. "Farahani acted or purported to act for or on behalf of, directly or indirectly, Iran's Ministry of Intelligence and Security."

Soleimani was a part of the IRGC (revolutionary guard responsible for many deaths across the region) following the Iranian Revolution, participating in the Shah's fall and assisting in Ayatollah Khomeini's takeover.

Soleimani personally quashed a Kurdish resistance movement in Iraq - becoming a hero to the Islamic Republic, which often suppresses the Kurdish nation. In December 2023, the U.S. Treasury Department announced sanctions against Farahani and another Iranian intelligence officer Mohammad Mahdi Khanpour Ardestani.

"Both Farahani and Ardestani have recruited individuals for various operations in the United States, to include lethal targeting of current and former U.S. Government officials as revenge for the death of Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps-Qods Force Commander Qasem Soleimani," the Treasury Department said.

"Farahani and Ardestani also recruited individuals for surveillance activities focused on religious sites, businesses, and other facilities in the United States."
