Jess Glynne has discussed her relationship with Alex Scott, sharing that she feels "comfortable" with her partner and adding that she is able to be "unapologetically" herself.

The singer-songwriter, 34, reflected on her romance with former footballer Alex, 39, on the latest episode of the Happy Place podcast. She spoke to host Fearne Cotton, 42, about aspects of her life whilst on the podcast.

During the episode, Jess suggested that she has 'worked' on herself in recent years. She said that as a result her relationships, romantic and otherwise, have benefited from the new-found relationship that she now has with herself.

Discussing her romance, when asked if she needed to "get happy and healthy" to be in a "happy, healthy relationship," she said: "People say to you don't they 'you can't like find that feeling unless you're happy in yourself,' right, and I think for me it has been like a crazy journey of relationships."

Jess continued whilst a guest on the podcast: "The work that I've done on myself has actually settled me inside and I think it's allowed me to yeah enter a relationship where I feel like very kind of comfortable and I'm just me." Jess added: "But I'm actually like unapologetically me and that goes for work, even my relationship with my family, with everything. I think every relationship around me has got better because of the relationship with myself. It has allowed me to yeah be really happy in a new relationship."

She added: "I think love is a really scary subject, in all walks of life, and I think when [you've] been through a lot in your life, I think love is the one thing, well for me anyway, it's that one that I keep at a distance. So yeah it's a nice thing to be able to embrace someone and a relationship that feels really genuinely good."

Asked if it helps that presenter Alex is also in the public eye, Jess said: "It's something I'm getting used to." The guest said that she has "always made a conscious decision" to keep her personal life to herself, saying that it's "so important". She said: "You get to go home and that's yours' and no one has access to that. Still even now, even though we're both like in this public space, it's like but what we have, that's ours'. I feel like that's something I will always do."

Jess further commented: "People want so much from you in every y'know sense of the word and I think what is beautiful is that you both feel like that way and you've both got that and that something you're gonna keep to yourself."
