A young woman who dated an OAP says she doesn't miss his "bad breath" or dentures and now believes a man looking for a younger girlfriend is a definite red flag.

Age-gap relationships can attract a lot of criticism but one woman who was sick of younger men taking advantage of her body and money reckons they should definitely be avoided after her experience with a much older man.

Former TV reality star Stephanie Matteo, who went viral for selling her farts in a jar, believed that an older man would be more mature and less likely to cheat compared to one nearer her own age. So when she was 23 she embarked on a relationship with a pensioner, who was 80 at the time.

Stephanie, 32, has appeared on 90 Day Fiance and now shares all aspects of her life on social media, which she has turned into a lucrative career. In one post, which has gone viral since she shared it, the woman revealed the details of her eyebrow-raising affair.

Stating she had so many things to say about the relationship in the TikTok clip, which was titled, 'My experience dating an 80 year old at 23 (You won't expect this)' Stephanie said she did still miss her ex, who has since died, sometimes but there things she definitely was happy to be without.

"I do not miss the halitosis, I do not miss the dentures, I do not miss how cranky he was in the morning," she said. "I know people say to not speak ill of those who have passed, but he was still my ex."

Explaining why she went out with him in the first place, she believed it was because she'd had bad experiences with younger men. "I think I was so scarred from dating younger guys who just used me for my body, used me for money," she said.

Thinking that "upgrading" to an older man who was more settled meant she was being smart and was "capable of change", she quickly realised that she was just "being dumb in a totally different way".

That was because she discovered that even pensioners can stray. "Older men are just as likely to cheat," she said. "You think that because they have a lower libido they're not going to cheat on you. But there's also emotional cheating and do you know how many ex girlfriends that guy has? Do you know how many girls he's hitting up at the retirement community?"

She explained that she wasn't threatened by the other women he was socialising with but she realised that just because he was older, didn't mean he was more mature. She realised that if a man was looking for a woman significantly younger than them, it was a "definite red flag".

Stephanie says she wouldn't recommend an age-gap relationship to anyone but asked what her followers thought and they were quick to respond.

One commenter disagreed and revealed she was happy with her older man: "My husband is 82 and I'm 52… love of my life. I think he plays the cranky old man card a little much," she wrote with some laughing emojis. Another said it had been great for them at one point: "My ex is 40, I am 72, that's the edge. It worked for years for both of us."

However there were those who agreed with Stephanie. One ranted: "Older men are jealous, angry, spiteful and selfish. They are EMOTIONAL Vampires! They want younger women because they're at the same level of maturity."

Another said: "My ex did the same thing. Her daddy issues were, whew." But a third believed older men were the better option: "Young men are kids they will cheat, an older man is a man he will take care of you," they wrote.
