Gary Goldsmith slammed as 'shockingly misguided' and 'tasteless' for CBB stint
Kate Middleton’s uncle Gary Goldsmith has been branded “shockingly misguided” and "tasteless" for signing up for Celebrity Big Brother - and says his appearance could really impact the recovering Princess of Wales.
Royal expert Jennie Bond says he "must" have fallen out with Kate's mum Carole for him to agree to do the show and she fears he could do irreparable damage by taking part in the ITV1 reality programme. Gary entered tonight Sharon Osbourne, Louis Walsh and Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu tonight - and viewers want him to tell all about the royal family.
Jennie says it is the last thing they need with Kate recovering having earlier been seen for the first time since abdominal surgery and King Charles beginning treatment for cancer. The Princess of Wales had not previously been seen by the public since her outing on Christmas Day in Sandringham last year.

The expert, who worked for fourteen years as the BBC's respected royal correspondent, told GB News: “He's very misguided to do so. He is either mad or bad, or as I say, shockingly misguided. I think it is the latter. Gary Goldsmith himself says he's not a bad guy. He's got a good heart and he's very fond of his niece, the Princess.

"But this is just - it's so demeaning. It is so tacky, it’s so tasteless of him to do this. It's the last thing that William and Catherine would want, whatever he said. And I know, I've been in a reality shows, I was in I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! I was in that jungle for nearly three weeks and I know, even as a professional broadcaster, there are moments when you forget just a little bit that the cameras are rolling, and then whatever you say can go out to millions of people. He has got to be absolutely on his guard and I rather doubt he'll be able to do that.”

But I don't think he's going to do that. I just think there might be moments when his judgement lapses. Well, I think he's had a big lapse of judgement in even going in the house.“I cannot see that any good is going to come out of it.
"He's clearly fallen out with his sister Carol Middleton over this. I think the whole family is furious with him and why is he doing it? The man is a millionaire. He has everything he wants, one assumes, in life. Is he craving some kind of celebrity? This is Celebrity Big Brother.“His only claim to fame is the fact that his niece is a future queen and that's quite a claim, I have to say, but does that make him a celebrity?”
IT recruitment boss Gary, worth around £30million, will earn a hefty pay day when he appears on Big Brother. But it is claimed the family are furious with his decision and won't be watching. A source told the Sun: “Gary said he’s been read the riot act by Kate’s mum Carole and her dad Michael. They aren’t happy he’s going into Celebrity Big Brother. It is infuriating for them. Kate doesn’t need this stress.”
