Coronation Street fans were thrilled to see real life couple Joe Duttine and Sally Carman share a scene together tonight.

Joe plays Sally's husband Tim Metcalfe on the ITV soap whilst Sally Carman plays Abi Webster, the wife of Kevin Webster, and despite their character's soap connection with Sally and Kevin being exes, the pair are rarely on screen to one another.

Sally and Joe are actually a couple in real life, and fans were thrilled to see Tim and Abi act alongside each other as Abi had drinks with Steve and Tim whilst they chatted about Tracy's affair with Tommy Orpington. Fans were thrilled to see them on screen together, with one writing: "I still can't believe Abi and Tim are married in real life lol #Corrie."

The pair have been together for a few years now, having got married back in 2022. The pair got engaged during lockdown, deciding to take their relationship to the next level. Back in 2021, she said: "Coronation Streethas completely changed my life, I feel really settled. I’ve got myself a fiancé, I’ve moved house, and I’ve got a family and brilliant friends.

"Before Corrie my life was about the next job. Now I’m at an age where I’ve pretty much done everything I want to do and this is a job where I get to do different storylines and hang out with good friends at work. Then I come home to my nice house and my family. I feel like I’m putting roots down for the first time in my life."

The pair have since got married, having tied the knot in July 2022. At the time, their soap co-stars rushed to congratulate them. Kimberly Hart-Simpson, who played Nicky Wheatley on the ITV soap, commented: "Oh my loooooooord Yess! Happy ever after," whilst Samia Longchambon, aka Maria Connor, also sent her well wishes, writing: "Omg look at you two. Congrats you gorgeous humans." Actress Rebecca Ryan added: "Congratulations!! So so happy for you both!! You look incredible Sally xxxx."

He proposed to her in a romantic treasure hunt with his kids involved. She said: "We were walking around this big field on this walk and he went: 'Kids, have a look in between the dry stone walling because you know, they used to put coins and precious things to hide them in the walls. 'You look at that bit Jeanie, and Joseph you look at that thing, Sal why don't you get involved?' I'd had a few beers because you know, that's what we did in lockdown. So I'm having a look and there's this box. And I opened it. I'm like: 'No way.' And then there was another box inside. And I turned around and he was on one knee."
