Martin Lewis warns This Morning viewers as they beg him to be permanent host
Martin Lewis issued a warning to This Morning viewers as he hosted the show for the very first time.
The money expert has been part of the This Morning team for 21 years, however has never presented the full show. He admitted it was a "bucket list moment" as he hosted the ITV daytime programme alongside Josie Gibson on Monday. As he kicked off the show, Martin urged viewers to not troll him over his "one off" appearance.
This Morning played a clip of Martin's very first stint on the show back in 2003, co-star Josie quipped: "Somebody has been on the youth juice, you don't look any older." Martin replied: "21 years later, thank you very much for having me on the show today. This isn't an audition, I don't want the job. I have got a day job, this is what I have always wanted to do this.
"To the producers, thanks for having me and everyone watching I hope you enjoy today. If you don't, don't worry because it is a one off. You don't need to tell me on social media if you didn't enjoy it, I don't need to know." Josie then asked him why he wanted to host the show.

I just think to present This Morning, it is This Morning. After today, I have done it." Viewers took to social media to praise Martin, One said: "Wow, you haven't changed a bit. @MartinSLewis Still a good-looking bugger. Looking forward to you presenting today."

Another added: "You’ll be great Martin, just be yourself and have fun." Someone else commented: "ITV gave the Job to the wrong person, you were made for this Martin. I'm sure you'll completely smash it." A fourth quipped: "For the first time in possibly ever, the main presenter today is actually the most intelligent person in the room." As one viewer said: "Big good luck @MartinSLewis you will be fantastic @thismorning #ThisMorning," as another gushed: "Martin is smashing this today."
One declared: "Get @MartinSLewis @thismorning on every single day I’d watch him and @Josiestweet because they work so well together and because they’ll get more viewers in." Announcing Martin would be hosting the show, the official This Morning Instagram account said: "It’s been 21 years since @martinlewismse first appeared on #ThisMorning, and this Monday, he gets to present it for the very first time, alongside @josiegibson85!
"They say never work with children or animals… but we’ve got both on tomorrow’s show, with life-changing dogs and World Book Day costumes for kids… so get an early night Martin, because we’re LIVE on ITV1 and STV from 10am!"
