Jennifer Lopez stepped out with husband Ben Affleck after spilling all about their turbulent marriage in her tell-all TV documentary.

The Jenny from the Block hitmaker revealed the real reason behind their shock 2004 breakup before they rekindled their romance in 2021. But now the chart-topping still appears vulnerable, according to leading body language expert Judi James.

Exclusively analysing new pictures of the pair, Judi tells The Mirror that Ben is still doing everything he can to look after his wife. The two were snapped shopping in Los Angeles on Sunday, with the two looking "puzzled" as photographers captured their trip.

"After releasing an emotionally bare-all documentary that digs well into the detail of their marriage it might be rather counter-intuitive of Ben and Jen to wear puzzled frowns and even, in Jen’s case, signals of trepidation and even shyness when the photographers turn up," Judi explained after the two were seen following the release of Jennifer's documentary The Greatest Love Story Never Told.

"The duo's chosen styling of ‘Waltons Chic’ with Jen in baggy dungarees and an even baggier cardigan and slippers does dovetail with Jen’s presenting persona from her documentary, which was all about tousled, bare-faced anti-glamour."

Judi added: "Her body language dynamic with Ben looks similarly on-message in terms of the doc. He walks in front, chest puffed in Superman mode, looking like her rock and with his chin raised in a gesture of defiance while she is suddenly vulnerable, tucking in behind his arm with that puzzled frown on her face.

"Their hand clasp looks as though their fingers are meshed to show unity and intimacy. The only question in terms of their emotional synchronicity is who is guarding the bodyguard? Ben has had his own vulnerabilities in the past but the focus now seems to be on him protecting Jen and boosting her self-esteem and confidence.

"Presumably the theraputive effects work both ways but his heavily furrowed frown suggests he might also be suffering from feelings of inner anxiety or tension."

It comes after J-Lo provided fans with an insight as to why she and Ben split back in the early 2000s. Speaking out in her new documentary, the hitmaker said: "Ben and I, we broke up three days before our wedding. "We had a big wedding planned—14 ushers and bridesmaids—and three days before, we just crumbled under the pressure." Ben then agreed with his wife that the reason behind the couple's split in 2003 was down to "the massive amount of scrutiny" around their private life.

The couple touches on how deciding to call off their first wedding led to them going on journeys of self-discovery. Jennifer recalled: "For all those years, it was really hard because I didn't just feel like I lost the love of my life, I felt like I lost the best friend that I ever had. And I couldn't talk for so many years, and that was the hardest part."
