Family pic of Princess Diana shows remarkable likeness to Charlotte say fans
A rarely seen photo of Princess Diana shows her striking resemblance to William’s daughter Charlotte.
Earl Spencer, 59, Diana’s younger brother, shared the snap on Instagram where the two are together with their mum in 1967. The Earl is sitting on the swing and smiling for the camera in the garden of the Althorp estate in West Northamptonshire and Diana standing next to him also looking happy.
In the heartwarming family photo their mum Frances Kydd, who would have been 31 at the time, is behind them pushing the swing. Diana wearing a white T-shirt and shorts along with flip-flops was aged about six and Earl Spence, three.
The post read: “My mother, Diana and I, in 1967. I would have been 3, and Diana 5 or 6. I love how happy each of us looks. At this stage of my life, my mother nicknamed me 'Buzz' - because she saw me as having the endless energy of a rather happy - and busy - bee.” The photo delighted royal fans who rushed to comment and highlight how similar Diana appears to the Waleses’ daughter Charlotte.

Further comments included: “You can really see Princess Charlotte in Diana in this photo!!” and "That was the first thing I thought. Charlotte looks just like her grandma Princess Diana."
It is not the first time that the similarity has been pointed out by royal fans including when William and Kate released family photos in 2020 to celebrate Father’s Day and the now Prince of Wales’ birthday.

It included people sharing an image of Diana from when she was around 10. One person commented: “Princess Charlotte looks exactly like Diana, it's insane.” Another wrote: “Charlotte looks like Diana omg.” While a further said: “Charlotte looks like grandma Diana.”
It is now 27 years since Diana died in a car crash inside a Paris tunnel. The public are able to visit a memorial to pay their respects but she is buried on the Althorp Estate.
