Dancing On Ice star Amber Davies has left the show at the final hurdle, missing out on a place in the live finale next weekend.

Judges Ashley Banjo, Oti Mabuse, Christopher Dean and Jayne Torvill sent the star packing after an action-packed semi-final that saw each of the pairings take on two routines, including one with a flying element. But only four couples could make it through to next week's final, with one unlucky star and their skating partner sent home.

Miles Nazaire and Vanessa Bauer, Ryan Thomas and Amani Fancy, Adele Roberts and Mark Hanretty, Amber Davies and Simon Proulx-Sénécal and Greg Rutherford and Vanessa James were the last five couples remaining, all taking to the rink in the semi-final on Sunday night. As their routines came to an end, each couple waited to learn their fates before the dreaded skate-off saw two of the celebrities going head-to-head.

The judges then had their say, sending home one celebrity and saving another. It follows the return of judge Ashley, who took a few weeks out for his dance group Diversity’s latest tour. On leaving the show, Amber said she was grateful for everyone in front of and behind the cameras, never expecting to get to appear on the show.

She also said she had a feeling her time was up on the series saying she was "on borrowed time", calling for Adele to win the show. Adele, Ryan, Greg and Miles will now battle for the trophy next Sunday.

Last week, hosts Stephen Mulhern and Holly Willoughby confirmed all the celebrities would be doing two skates next week including a flying skate. It had been a regular staple on the show for multiple series, giving some incredible dances in past episodes but it hasn't been seen on the show as a theme for a long time now, with fans divided about its return.
