Love Island's Marcel Somerville breaks his silence after wife admits to cheating
Marcel Somerville has broken his social media silence following his wife's grovelling apology after her cheating was brutally exposed online.
The former Love Island star, 38, has been left heartbroken following the revelation that his wife Rebecca Vierirax's extramarital flirtations, with friends of the Blazing Squad legend previously telling the Mirror that the dad-of-one has moved out of the family home in the wake of the betrayal.
Writing on social media earlier this week, Rebecca, who shares a son with Marcel, admitted she had made 'huge mistake' that has 'embarrassed only her husband but herself and their families' in a grovelling public apology, after her flirty messages with one half of hip hop duo Rae Sremmurd went viral.
Speaking out to share her side of the story, Rebecca said: "By now most of you would have seen what's going on. I've made a huge mistake, I've embarrassed not only my husband but myself and both our families. My actions were foolish and have hurt so many people around us but most importantly my husband. I've said a lot of things that I shouldn't have and it was stupid of me so I won't sit here and justify my actions, those decisions should have never been made."
"I want to publicly apologise to my Marcel, just as loudly as the rest of the noise. For all the hurt, embarrassment and pain I have put him through there is nothing and no one in the world that comes before you and our family. No-one could ever compare." Rebecca then told her husband, "I love you beyond measure, with no doubts, with no question, you are my beginning and my end my forever love. I love you."
Love Island's Haris spills on unaired row between Zara and TanyelMarcel, who is yet to explicitly speak out on his marriage woes, has since broken his social media silence following his estranged wife's plea for forgiveness. Taking to his Instagram Stories on Saturday, the reality TV star shared a video of late actor Chadwick Boseman delivering an empowering speech.
The video clip, originally posted by the betteryouliving account, was captioned: "God has a plan for you." A lengthier caption read: "God has a plan for your life. 'For I know the plans I have for you,' says the Lord. 'They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.' (Jeremiah 29:11)"
Marcel and Rebecca tied the knot in August 2022 and share two-year-old son Roman together. The pair's martial problems began last month, when flirty messages - including nudes and sexts - between Rebecca and American hip hop artist Slim Jxmmi were leaked online.
A woman known as KD, who is the mother of one of Slim's children, didn't hold back as she shared messages on her social media platforms that showed Rebecca having an alleged flirtation with the This Could Be Us singer. "Some men have to watch who they marry and lie down with too. Y'all marry and settle down for the money and stability," KD wrote on her Instagram Stories as she shared screenshots with her followers.
She went on the write: "Cheating on your husband with my son's dad is crazy...especially after being in my DMs trying to link with me and be cool. Nasty work." KD tagged both Rebecca and her husband Marcel into the savage posts before sharing some messages that appeared to show Rebecca and Jxmmi enjoying a flirty exchange, including an alleged nude photo Rebecca sent to the Black Beatles singer.
When KD's messages went viral on Instagram, a source close to Marcel told the Mirror on Monday [26th February]: "Marcel is absolutely devastated. Rebecca was his life and he'd changed so many things about his lifestyle to make her happy. Everything he did, everything he worked for was for his wife and his son."
"The poor guy feels like he's in a nightmare and he keeps hoping he'll wake up. For him to know that Rebecca was telling another man she loves him, and then spent Valentine's Day with him has completely broken him. He doesn't know what he's going to do now but he's moved out of the family home and is living with friends at the moment."
