Kate Middleton's uncle Gary Goldsmith has been spotted doing some last-minute shopping ahead of Celebrity Big Brother returning to our screens on Monday night.

As Kate is subjected to speculation regarding her whereabouts following her recent abdominal surgery, the future Queen - who was last seen in public on Christmas Day - faces further agony as her hard-partying uncle prepares to enter the Big Brother house and possibly spill some family secrets.

Alongside Gary, rumoured celebrities for the new series of the ITV reboot include Strictly Come Dancing star Nikita Kuzmin, Loose Women's Linda Robson, X Factor judges Louis Walsh and Sharon Osbourne, and former This Morning presenter Fern Britton.

Kate's notorious 'naughty' uncle Gary, who is the younger brother of Carol Middleton, was spotted picking up some smart new suits from a top London tailor over the weekend, hoping to make a good first impression when he makes his TV debut and enters the Big Brother house.

Interestingly, he chose Chris Kerr, one of his niece Kate's favourite bespoke outfitters, who has previously made several formal items for the Princess. Gary, who is a multi-millionaire due to his successful recruitment business, was seen at Kerrs Soho studio trying on the suits one last time before his big appearance. This move is likely to worry the Middleton family, given Gary's notorious history of causing embarrassment, including cocaine use.

Last year, it was reported that Gary was preparing to release a book which aims to "fight back" against claims made by Prince Harry in his explosive memoir Spare. Gary, 58, tried to win a place on I'm A Celebrity last year but was rejected at the final stage. But IT recruitment boss Gary, worth around £30million, seems to have done enough to land his chance and will earn a hefty pay day when he appears on Big Brother next week.

Gary's shopping trip comes as hosts of Celebrity Big Brother have warned that the upcoming ITV series will be "tougher" and "very different". AJ Odudu and Will Best have hinted at challenges for the new housemates ahead of the big launch on Monday night. Will said: "I think he can definitely be more mischievous and cheeky," while AJ added: "I do think with the celebs, just taking them away from all of the luxuries, no riders, the economy budget for shopping, sharing the kitchen, sharing the bedroom. They're gonna be used to living by themselves."

Will also revealed that this series will differ from the civilian series - which was won by fan favourite Jordan - due to the audience's preconceived ideas about the famous housemates. Chatting to The Mirror and other media outlets before the show's kick-off, he said: "It'll be really interesting because we'll be immediately, in episode one, we're gonna find out what people's preconceived opinions are of these celebs and then we'll see that change in a way that you wouldn't do right from the start to right to the end on the civilian version. So yeah, really excited."

In other news, AJ let slip her wish for a US star to join the celeb housemates. She said: "I definitely want to see someone from Selling Sunset, I want an American. They never quite fully understand the concept and they never know who the other UK celebrities are. The two worlds colliding is always perfection to watch. We want some A-list celebrities to get in there and ask where's the champagne? We went them to think it's going to be luxurious, but we've given them an economy shopping budget."

"I want to have a mix of ages. It's that intergenerational thing and seeing the difference between old-school celebrities and new ones. I want a musician, a sports person, a royal, a reality personality, they are part of the fabric of our current celebrity culture," Will added when chatting about his dream line-up.
