Saturday Night Takeaway host Ant McPartlin pleaded with a show guest to "shut up" as he kept messing up a challenge.

As Ring My Bell returned with a twist, a number of audience members were given the opportunity to win £500 for themselves and a neighbour. The task sees their doorbell camera up on the screen, televised to the nation, while they are sat in the studio audience.

If a neighbour watching the show recognises the location or the person it belongs to, as revealed during the episode, they have to run over to the doorbell and talk through it. This time around there were two different doorbell camera on the screen at any one time, in two separate locations.

The neighbours of each owner of each doorbell had to compete to get to the house first, with an item chosen by hosts Ant and Dec. Whoever got there first with the item would get the money for them and the person in the crowd.

But with the neighbours in different parts of the country, they had to rely on an earpiece and communication from Ant and Dec to find out which of them had won. What resulted was the wrong person responding to Ant's questions repeatedly.

Despite the neighbours in Wrexham winning Angela and themselves the money, it was the neighbour in Tividale who kept speaking instead of staying silent, as the lady in Wrexham struggled to hear. As Ant asked for the name of the person, the man in Tividale repeated his name.

As Ant asked him to be quiet and asked for the name of the other guest, he didn't realise and then proceeded to repeat his name. With it being live telly, Ant had enough and shouted out "shut up" as the audience laughed.

The guest soon realised it wasn't him who was meant to be speaking and stayed silent, while Dec advised winner Angela to spend her winnings on a new doorbell after an accident. As the girls racing to her camera got there, they collided with the doorbell and it seemed to fall out of place.

It comes as hosts Ant and Dec previously opened up about their decision to rest the show. Ant said: "We need time to think and, and time to step back and look at the bigger picture and just see where we are now.

"Like I say, we’re turning 49, and what do we want to do next? What’s the next phase of our career? And we’ve got lots of ideas and lots of offers on the table, lots of options of things we can do. But it’s working on what we do next and where the next chapter begins.

"So that’s what we’re gonna do when Saturday Night Takeaway is out of the way. We’ll sit down, take a bit of time, and re-evaluate everything." In an interview with Flaunt magazine recently ahead of the new series' launch, he added on what's next: "A lot, we do the show and then Britain's Got Talent, but on a more personal level, part of the reason we're pausing Takeaway is we need a break ourselves, and we need to spend some time with our family.

"We've both got children that we need to spend time with for a little bit."Whilst Saturday Night Takeaway will be ending, Ant and Dec's partnership will continue, with the pair expected to present I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here together later this year as well as other telly jobs too.
