A young boy who lost his life in a tragic car crash was able to meet his newly-born baby brother just moments before he died and went on to donate his organs.

Laura Coady welcomed Shane Dylan Coady-Coleman into the world on Tuesday, just two days after his 11-year-old brother Dylan was killed in a fatal crash along Purcell Park in Shannon on Sunday afternoon. Announcing the new family addition on Facebook, alongside husband Garry Coleman, Laura posted a picture and said: "Welcome to the world! Shane Dylan Coady-Coleman."

The arrival of baby Shane Dyland was bittersweet for the family who lost Dylan after he was airlifted to University Hospital Limerick following the incident and after treatment there and subsequently at Temple Street Hospital in Dublin. Dylan has been labelled a hero by many people on social media after it was revealed his organs were donated to help save young children in needed. He was able to meet his baby brother before he passed away at 11.12am on Wednesday, his heartbroken mum Laura confirmed.

Announcing her son's tragic death, Laura explained how Dylan would be donating his organs to children in need. She also asked people to play The Cranberries hit song Zombie in his memory. Posting a photo of the youngster smiling while on a kayak on social media, she said: “Dylan (Trigger) Charlie Coady-Coleman officially died today at 11.12am. He got to meet his little brother. He will be donating his organs to little kids. If ye would like to play Zombie in his memory today xxx.”

Dylan’s school, St Tolas NS in Shannon, paid an emotional tribute to him, describing him as a “beloved pupil", the Irish Mirror reports. The school said in a heartbreaking statement: “It is with great sadness that we have learnt of the tragic death of our beloved pupil Dylan Coady-Coleman.

"Dylan is a much loved 4th class pupil in St Tolas N.S. His gorgeous smile and kind heart endeared him to everyone in our school community. He will be greatly missed. Our thoughts and prayers are with his Mum Laura, dad Garry, little sister Zoe and new baby brother Shane. We are also thinking of his grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, his extended family and his wide circle of friends, especially those here in St Tolas."

Dylan was also a part of Shannon Kickboxing Club who paid an emotional tribute to him and described him as a club member they were "privileged" to have with them. A spokesman said: "The saddest news to hear the passing of young Dylan Coady Coleman who we were privileged to have had as part of our club in Shannon Kickboxing such a lovely young boy we would like to offer our deepest condolences to Laura Garry Zoe and all the extended families at this devastating time."
