Nothing likes to shake up the market with devices that offer exclusive features - such as its glowing Glyph Interface - at much lower prices than you might expect. Last year's top-rated Nothing Phone 2 currently costs just £549 which is far cheaper than flagships from Apple or Samsung. Now the tech firm is back with yet another headline-grabbing smartphone that looks a little different from its rivals. The upcoming Phone (2a) will be officially revealed at a launch event on March 5 but to create some excitement before the big event, Nothing has given fans a sneak peek at what's to come.

As you can see from the pre-release pictures, the 2a has a unique design with a camera that looks just like a pair of eyes. If that wasn't enough to give it a human feel, Nothing is also promising that, behind those rear cameras, is a "hub of intelligence" that powers the phone, much like a brain.

Glowing Glyph lights also surround the snapper and will flash and light up when calls or texts arrive.

According to Nothing, its Phone (2a) features an industry-first with its 90° angle unibody cover wrapping around the edges. This has been added to create a new dimension and perspective to the design, while seamlessly integrating the dual camera module. The firm is also boasting that this refreshed look will make things tougher and less likely to break when dropped.

If you hate phones that make an unsatisfying clatter on the desk when you type a message, that shouldn't happen on the Phone (2a).

Nothing says it has designed the camera ‘bump’ in a way that stabilises the phone when it’s lying flat on a surface. The placement also helps minimise finger obstructions when taking a picture.

Full specs and pricing will be revealed next week but it's likely that the Nothing Phone (2a) will sit at the cheaper end of the market. With the more premium Nothing Phone 2 now costing £549, expect the 2a to be priced around £350.

Mirror Online will bring you full details when they are announced so watch this space.
