Cat started sharing her cancer journey in November 2021. She shared in a TikTok video that she first felt a lump in her neck. She was diagnosed with sarcoma, a rare cancer that develops in the bones and soft tissues. She underwent surgery, chemotherapy and radiation before she was cancer-free in July 2022. During her journey, she wrote music and shared her songs on social media.

The singer tragically revealed that her cancer returned and she entered a hospice in January after not being able to breathe, according to PEOPLE. She revealed that all of her songs were put out for her son, Loren, and all proceeds made will go to him.

She said: "Everyone knows that I've been battling cancer for a while and I wanted to put this song out, and just go stream it. I hope you like it. I don't know if I'm going to be around even when the song comes out, so let's just put it out. And I did."
