Strictly Come Dancing star Bobby Brazier shut down rumours about him joining Celebrity Big Brother with a simple, but slightly brutal, response.

The 20-year-old actor has been busy in recent years after joining EastEnders and later taking part in BBC dance competition Strictly. Now that the series is over, rumours have been swirling about the star joining a slew of famous faces in the Big Brother house next month.

The popular celebrity version of the reality series returns to television screens on Monday for its much-anticipated revival, with the line-up of housemates yet to be announced. It comes following the return of Big Brother, which aired from October to November last year.

Bobby, whose mother Jade Goody rose to fame in the 2002 version of the show, was recently asked if he would ever take part in the series. "Absolutely not," he said. "I want to be an actor. Why would I do that when I’ve got EastEnders and other potential acting roles to think about."

He told Woman Magazine: "I want to be taken seriously as an actor." His mother Jade returned to the Celebrity version of the show in 2007, which turned out to be a disastrous stint for her. At the time, she was accused of racist behaviour towards winning contestant Shilpa Shetty.

Jade sadly passed away in 2009 at the age of 27 following a battle against cervical cancer. Last year, Jade's ex and Bobby's dad Jeff Brazier admitted he found it hard to watch the series. Ahead of the upcoming series, ITV recently shared news of the change in the voting process.

On Wednesday, it was announced that viewers will be voting to save their favourite housemate, rather than voting to evict their least favourite, which was the case last year. The news was shared by hosts AJ Odudu and Will Best in a video posted on social media earlier this week.

AJ teased: "Celebrity Big Brother is just around the corner, so we're coming at you with big news." Will then said: "Yeah! Now, you'll remember that last series of Big Brother you were voting to evict. This time, for Celeb BB, you are voting for your favourite housemate. You're always voting to save."

Concluding the video, AJ expressed excitement, saying: "I don't know how it's gonna change the dynamics within the Big Brother house or how fans are gonna rally behind their favourite celebrity, but I for one cannot wait to find out!"
