This Morning legend Alison Hammond opened up about her future plans away from the flagship ITV programme.

The 49-year-old presenter is well loved by the public and has been fronting Friday's morning show with Dermot O'Leary ever since they replaced Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford in 2020. When Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby stepped down from their roles last year, they landed more permanent positions on the show.

She has been part of the programme in smaller parts since 2002. Her career has been skyrocketing, with the star hosting last year's BAFTA Awards with Richard E Grant. In March 2023, it was announced that she would be the new co-host of The Great British Bake Off replacing Matt Lucas. Last month, the star was also announced as the new host of ITV's For The Love Of Dogs.

With how well her career is going, it's no surprise Alison has been thinking about what to do next. "I love my job and I'm good at it," she recently explained. "But I've always got plans, things I wanna do next. I can't tell you how many times I've asked for my own show."

Speaking to Woman's Own, she said: "That's what I want, a show called Alison." Meanwhile, Cat Deeley and Ben Shephard were recently revealed as the permanent new hosts of This Morning. It came a couple of weeks after The Mirror reported the hosting shake-up.

Starting from mid-March, the duo will be the new faces of the show. Earlier this month, Alison and Dermot reacted to the news and broke their silence on Ben and Cat joining he family. The pair were thrilled by the news with Dermot knowing both newcomers for a while, and Alison also saying it was "so nice" for them to join them. Viewers were pretty divided over the news, with some excited and others not so impressed.

As the show kicked off, Ben was seen walking through the studio corridors as he placed framed photos of him and Cat on the wall alongside other presenters, before he told viewers: "See you soon!" Alison and Dermot reacted to the news and both said: "Welcome to the family." Alison added: "We are so happy, it's finally out, the news is finally out."

Dermot called it "lovely" as Alison said it was "so so nice". Ben and Cat will make their debut hosting This Morning in March hosting the Monday to Thursday shows, with Alison and Dermot on Fridays again like before.
