Hollyoaks is airing the heartbreaking final scenes of Yazz Cunningham as the actress quits the show after seven years.

Yazz, played by Haiesha Mistry, fled the area for a brand new start across the pond in Canada after months of issues with her husband Tom Cunningham. Over the months, Yazz started talking to someone online called Gordon. She had no idea it was actually her husband pretending to be her online friend.

He was furious when he realised she had no idea it was him, and the pair clashed. Tom proceeded to cheat on his wife with his ex and her best friend Peri Lomax, while Yazz also kissed someone else. Things came to a head when she was offered a huge job in Canada and Tom tried to sabotage it.

Not wanting to lose her, Tom emailed the potential employer and pretended to be Yazz. He declined the job opportunity and did not tell his wife what he had done. She soon discovered what he had done through the employer and confronted him during their vow renewal.

She announced she wanted a divorce and told her friends and family of her plans to move to Canada. Everyone gathered to send her off and Peri made an appearance to apologise for her actions. Tom, who was emotional about her departure, said goodbye to her before she said to him: "I had the time of my life."

The heartbreaking goodbye comes as Haiesha quit the show after almost a decade. Elsewhere, Hollyoaks recently announced Rose Lomax will be part of a new trans storyline. Rose, played by Ava Webster, has been struggling in recent months and newcomer Kitty (Iz Hesketh) will become a close confidant after moving into the flat above The Dog.

While their friendship grows, Rose starts questioning their gender identity. In future scenes, Dee Dee asks Kitty about it when she finds an ID in her bag with a different name on it. Rose steps in and tells Dee Dee that it's normal for people transitioning to experiment with different names. The 12-year-old then asks Kitty if she would be willing to share her transitioning story.

Rose soon turns to Kitty for advice and support as they reveal that they're questioning their identity.

Hollyoaks is available to stream on Channel 4's streaming service now, while it also airs Mondays to Fridays on E4 at 7PM.*
