India Hicks pens moving tribute to 'most noble' royal and shares childhood story
India Hicks has shared an emotional tribute to a "considerate" royal following his death.
The goddaughter of King Charles, who served as a bridesmaid during his first wedding to Lady Diana Spencer, later Diana, Princess of Wales, often shares an insight into life within the royal fold. Now, the former Tommy Hilfiger model has opened up on her family connection to the late Constantine II of Greece.
Constantine II died aged 82 on January 10, 2023, five decades after being forced into exile as the last monarch of Greece. This week, the British royals, led by Queen Camilla and international royals including Greece's Queen Anne-Marie gathered at St George's Chapel for a memorial service for the late King.

India, 56, along with her husband David Flint Wood and their son Amory attended the memorial.
Taking to Instagram, the philanthropist shared a series of images taken at various stages of the day, including one taken at home as she posed alongside her husband and son. Another showed the order of service for the memorial, which read: "Thanksgiving service for the life of His Majesty King Constantine Of The Hellenes."

Captioning her upload, Hicks penned: "A moving memorial service today celebrating the life of a most noble man. He would look out for me during his visits to Gordonstoun and inspired us all with his dedication to equipping youth for leadership and service through the Round Square conferences.
"He was also a considerate Godfather to one of mine. Every year, without fail, a birthday telegram would arrive on the island, always a few days late because it came by mail boat, on island time." Her online followers rushed to offer their condolences, with one writing: "A lovey story befitting a lovely man….." A second penned: "So sorry for your loss..peace to his family and you and yours. And such a dignified elegance of you, @davidflintwood and your son paying tribute." While a third typed: "Indeed a nobleman."
The Greek Royal Family has a close bond with the House of Windsor, with Prince William being the godson of King Constantine. William, who was due to give a reading at his godfather's memorial service, could no longer attend because of a "personal matter". Meanwhile, Prince William is also the godfather of Constantine's grandson, Konstantine Alexios of Greece, the son of Crown Prince Pavlos and his wife, Crown Princess Marie-Chantal. King Charles is also the second cousin of the late monarch, as well as being a close friend.
