Celebrity Big Brother may cause a reality show clash with Strictly Come Dancing by signing up one of its brightest young stars.

The iconic house-based reality show is returning to screens next month for a brand new season as ITV has revived the show six years after Channel 5 axed it. A host of stars have been linked to the new show - which is due to start filming on Sunday and will start airing via ITV on Monday 4 March.

Now a Strictly Come Dancing heartthrob has been linked to the new series - sparking fears he might quit the BBC show to chase lucrative TV contracts. Blond-haired hunk Nikita Kuzmin joined the raft of Strictly pro dancers in 2021 - and reached second place in the 2023 contest when he was paired with 29-year-old Bad Education actor Layton Williams.

The 26-year-old dancer’s popularity has skyrocketed since he first joined Strictly and a report has suggested a stint on CBB would cement him as a firm TV show favourite. While the contacts for the Strictly Come Dancing 2024 season have not yet been renewed - the pro dancers are the stars that have the highest turnover of talent.

A source told The Sun: “This will send the rumour mill into overdrive, with some already suggesting he may not return to Strictly and is instead making the most of being a rising star. He’ll have been selected by CBB producers as an obvious heartthrob who can spice things up in the house — and maybe even spill some secrets from behind the scenes of Strictly.”

However, a Celebrity Big Brother spokesperson told the Mirror: "Any names are at this point pure speculation and viewers will have to tune to see who will be entering the Celebrity Big Brother house." Nikita is just the latest in a line of stars that have been linked to the rebooted show.

Love Island bombshell Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu is rumoured to be heading to the famous house - while former X Factor judges Louis Walsh and Sharon Osbourne are said to be reuniting via the series as contestants. Loose Women star Linda Robson, Reggae Reggae sauce inventor Levi Roots, and TOWIE star Chloe Brockett have also been tipped to take part in the series.

Meanwhile, show hosts AJ Odudu and Will Best have teased which famous faces they would like to see taking part in the show. AJ, 36, told the Mirror this week: "I definitely want to see someone from Selling Sunset, I want an American. They never quite fully understand the concept and they never know who the other UK celebrities are. The two worlds colliding is always perfection to watch. We want some A-list celebrities to get in there and ask where's the champagne? We went them to think it's going to be luxurious, but we've given them an economy shopping budget."

And Will, 39, added: "I want to have a mix of ages. It's that intergenerational thing and seeing the difference between old-school celebrities and new ones. I want a musician, a sports person, a royal, a reality personality, they are part of the fabric of our current celebrity culture."
