F1 24 release date confirmed in first teaser trailer for the game
EA Sports has confirmed the release date for F1 24, with the publisher also posting a teaser trailer which gives players a first look at the upcoming racing title.
On the eve of the 2024 Formula 1 season, in which Red Bull Racing F1's Max Verstappen will be aiming to win his third successive F1 Driver's Championship title, EA Sports has given fans their first look at F1 24 via a Twitter post. The trailer for the official video game of the 2024 FIA Formula One World Championship also confirmed the F1 24 release date as Friday, May 31.
F1 24 will be available on the usual platforms, including current-gen consoles (PS5 and Xbox Series X|S), last-gen consoles (PS4 and Xbox One) and PC. According to the official EA Sports F1 24 webpage, the new racing title will feature Dynamic Handling, with EA describing the latest feature as "The latest physics gives you more control over how your personal driving style impacts your car's performance and race strategy".
There's also a shout-out for the much-loved Driver Career mode, which has largely remained unchanged for the last few editions of the game, but EA states that F1 24 will feature an "all-new Driver Career mode with new gameplay rooted in the sport". EA has confirmed that details about new features and modes will be announced in April.
The F1 24 release date was previously leaked by a reliable industry insider bilbil-kun, and it's proven to be correct. The release dates for the series instalments seem to be getting earlier and earlier in recent years, from F1 21 and F122's July window followed by a June launch for F1 23.
Why Star Wars Jedi: Survivor's six week delay is a good thingEA Sports has also confirmed that players who pre-order the F1 24 Champions Edition will receive three days of early access, with those players able to play the game from Tuesday, May 28. Other bonuses included with the Champions Edition include two new Formula 1 Icons, 18,000 Pitcoin and an F1 World Bumper Pack featuring resources for single and multiplayer gameplay events. Players who pre-order the Standard Edition will receive 5,000 Pitcoin and an F1 World Starter Pack.
"For the first time, our F1 23 players can now connect immediately with the 2024 season with some of their favourite teams ahead of this weekend’s first Lights Out," said Lee Mather, Senior Creative Director at Codemasters.
"Our full reveal is coming soon, and we’re bringing players an overhauled Career mode, a new EA Sports Dynamic Handling System, and so much more."
F1 24 will be the fourth annual Formula 1 racing game to be published by EA Sports since the company's acquisition of Codemasters in 2021 (via EA) for $1.2billion, following the release of F1 2021, F1 22 and F1 23 previously.
