Married At First Sight UK's Peggy accuses Georges of playing with her emotions

Married At First Sight UK star Peggy Rose has hit out at her ex-partner Georges Berthonneau for 'playing with her emotions.'

The reality star rose to fame on last season's MAFS where she was paired with Georges and struggled with the relationship. They opted to stay together and work on their relationship during the final vow ceremony but Peggy shocked fans when she announced their split on Valentine's Day.

On Monday night, fans watched as most of the cast got together for one final reunion. Peggy wanted to thank fans for their support and jumped on her Instagram Live to provide a little update on her life. She also mentioned an article that was published a week before she announced the breakup.

In the article, Georges claimed they planned on having children, moving in together and getting engaged. However, Peggy had 'nothing to do with' the story and told fans the interview came out a week after the two went their separate way. She said: "Hi guys, I just got home and I just wanted to jump on here very quickly just to say thank you so much for all of your lovely messages.

"You're amazing and hopefully, you got to enjoy the show and get to see the couples. I love each and every one of them and I hope they go the distance and they made me believe in love even more. I'm not going to give up until I find it so don't give up either if you are single and looking for love. It is out there, the right person is out there for everybody.

Apologising to her fans, she added: "I'm sorry to those who said they were misled by the article about Georges wanting my babies and wanting to move in together. I had nothing to do with that article whatsoever. Georges sold that article. I read that and a week before that he broke up with me. So trust me, it played with my emotions more than anybody. But don't give up love is out there."

In the interview with Closer Magazine, Georges claimed: "The plan is to have children. Obviously, we've got to stay together, move in together and get engaged. She lives at home, I live at mine. I'd have her move in with me but she has so much stuff!" Despite the talk about the future, things weren't as good as they seemed.

On February 14, Peggy took to her Instagram Stories to announce the split and reveal how it 'affected her mental health'. She said: " I'm so sorry I've been quiet on socials everybody but there's a reason for my silence. Me and Georges are no longer together and I'm absolutely heartbroken.

"It's affected my mental health and it's taken me weeks to come to terms with it but with it being Valentine's Day, I can't pretend to be OK. Thank you to everyone who has supported us and our journey... Nobody is more upset about it than me x." Mirror Online have contacted Georges' reps for comment.
