MAFS UK fans baffled as couple 'still together' at reunion despite splitting

Married At First Sight UK viewers were left baffled on Monday night's Reunion Special 2024 just seconds into the episode.

During the special episode, the contestants from 2023 reunited with explosive results and two people reuniting with their co-stars were Georges Berthonneau and Peggy Lawrence.

The duo put on a loved-up display, sharing details of their romance with their fellow contestants. However, viewers were left baffled over the scenes as Georges and Peggy split earlier this month. On Valentine's Day, Peggy took to social media to announce she and Georges had parted with the latter since claiming he was "blindsided" by the announcement.

Taking to Twitter, now X, one person said: "Wait…… Peggy and George’s still together??? #MAFSUK", a different account asked: "Peggy & George aren't together anymore are they #MAFSUK?", a different account put: "Georges & Peggy have broke up since this tho #MAFSUK", another viewer put: "Well this is so out of date. Peggy and Georges split up a few weeks ago. This should have been broadcast months ago. It was filmed during the airing of the show. #MAFSUK" while a different account added: "PEGGY AN GEORGES ARE STILL TOGETHER??? #mafsuk."

However, the reunion was filmed weeks in advance in November, explaining the duo being together on the show and since splitting. It comes as Peggy announced on Valentine's Day that the former couple had split up, after getting together on the E4 show last year.

It read: "I'm so sorry I've been quiet on socials everybody but there's a reason for my silence. Me and Georges are no longer together and I'm absolutely heartbroken. It's affected my mental health and it's taken me weeks to come to terms with it but with it being Valentine's Day, I can't pretend to be OK. Thank you to everyone who has supported us and our journey... Nobody is more upset about it than me x."

Not long after she shared her statement, Georges took to his page to share his shock over her announcement. He wrote on his Stories: "Wasn't expecting a statement from Peggy regarding this situation. I'm heartbroken by our breakup and also trying to come to terms with life without Peggy.

"I appreciate a lot of you have questions but I won't be talking about this situation as of yet. Also thank you for the messages of support."
