MAFS Peggy furiously hits out at ex Georges as reunion episode confuses fans
Married At First Sight star Peggy Rose has slammed her ex-boyfriend Georges Berthonneau - as a reunion special left fans confused about the state of their romance.
Earlier this month, 32-year-old Peggy and 30-year-old Georges’s relationship imploded - with contrasting stories coming from both sides of the couple. TV fans were left confused on Monday night when E4 aired a reunion special of the chaotic dating show - which was filmed months ago and saw Peggy and Georges taking part when they were still all loved up.
Taking to social media as the episode aired, Peggy assured fans her relationship with Georges was over - and she hinted he had mistreated her. Taking aim at her ex, she branded him a ‘liar’ and hinted that an explosive revelation would be made about him in due course.
Speaking to the camera on Instagram Stories, Peggy said: “I just wanted to say I hope you all enjoy the MAFS reunion tonight. Sadly, I won’t be watching it because I can’t bear to see me be a fool and be with a liar. And I am gutted because I feel like I’ve let you all down and it will just be really hard to watch it.

I thought it was love, but… the truth will come out, that’s all I can say. And I believe in Karma. So, yeah. I’m trying to be the bigger person. It’s hard. I’m sorry I’ve been quiet with you guys as well. It’s not my thing, but I have to.”

In a series of videos shared via his own Instagram Stories, Georges hinted at a difficult breakup with Peggy. A fan asked him if he was looking forward to watching the reunion episode. He replied: “Um, no.” He went on to say he thinks many of the scenes were fake.
He explained: “We were probably a week away from the end of the show, so people kind of knew how they had been edited and they really tried to self-edit themselves. We all knew about Matt and Shona being together. I’m pretty sure in the scene where they walk in I am making a drink and [going] ‘Ah! Yeah’. It was mental. You can really see people trying to give themselves a different narrative. I’m sure that’s how it will play out and I’m glad people can play up to the cameras.”
He was then asked if he was still looking for a wife. He replied: “Always and obviously. Right now for me, it’s about healing. I feel better every day. It’s about healing and kind of going and knowing my self-worth and value. I bring a lot to the table. I commit 120 per cent to everything I do, which was very apparent was a one way street. And that’s fine. I just need to find someone who is willing to do the same for me. They put in the same effort. And I’ll go from there.”
Another fan also asked when the new reunion episode was filmed and Georges revealed it had been filmed in November - over two months before his relationship with Peggy collapsed. Peggy had broken the news that the relationship was over in a social media post that she uploaded in the middle of February. She revealed: "It's affected my mental health and it's taken me weeks to come to terms with it but with it being Valentine's Day, I can't pretend to be OK. Thank you to everyone who has supported us and our journey... Nobody is more upset about it than me x."
