Celebrity Big Brother legend teases comeback ahead of show's return

Chantelle Houghton has teased a return to Celebrity Big Brother as the ITV show makes its huge comeback.

The reality star appeared on the series back in 2006 aged 22, where she became the only non-celebrity to feature on the star-studded version of the show. Celebrity Big Brother is set to make its return next month for the first time in over five years, with many speculations over who could be on the line-up.

Chantelle came out of the Big Brother house with a new love interest in the form of Ordinary Boys frontman Preston and has since reflected on her time on the show. She revealed she will "always be in touch" with Preston, who she went on to marry. Chantelle shared: “I'm still in touch with Preston, I always have been and always will be. Me and Michael Barrymore occasionally send each other messages on Instagram."

"Pete Burns, I was in touch with, obviously up until he sadly passed but nobody else. Not for any reason, not for any falling out or anything, it's just life, isn't it? Everyone goes off on their own way," Chantelle told Spin Genie. She has already made a comeback on the Ultimate Big Brother series, where she was able to "relax a lot more".

Chantelle said: "It was really different as well because Preston was in the second one as well, and I went through quite a difficult time, because we then weren't together anymore, yet here we were, we're back in this enclosed environment. Can you imagine being with somebody, getting married to them, then you divorce and go your separate ways, and then you're locked in a house with them for three weeks, sort of realising you're not really over them, but you don't want to be with them again?

"It was quite emotional for me the second one, but I'm really glad I did it, and if they'd have me back, I'd go again!” Chantelle and Preston married the same year they left the show at swanky Dartmouth House in Mayfair. However, in 2007 they split, releasing a joint statement that read: "After much soul-searching and tearful discussions we have sadly decided to end our marriage.

"We hope we can always remain friends and still love each other, but we both think we put so much pressure on one another to make our marriage work that it has ended up destroying our relationship. No one else is involved in our decision." In 2011, Chantelle had a whirlwind romance with Alex Reid, who was previously married to Katie Price. They welcomed daughter Dolly the following year, but Alex and Chantelle split shortly after.

‌Chantelle is currently single, but recently said: "I'd rather be on my own, rather than be sat on the sofa with someone who drives you around the bend and you don't want to be romantic with, just for the sake of saying 'oh I'm with somebody'."
