Emmerdale fans left confused over Charity twist after Mack stabbing horror
Emmerdale fans were left confused on Monday night over a new Charity Dingle twist.
Charity is in the midst of a huge storyline at the moment after she stabbed Mackenzie Boyd in the night as she continues to struggle with her mental health following the altercation she had with Harry at Christmas, which ended up in Harry's death.
Charity has been finding it difficult to cope with all that's going on, and as a result has been struggling with sleep deprivation. Mack was rushed to hospital on Thursday, but on Friday, viewers found out he would be ok.
On Monday night's episode, Mack remained in hospital, where he regained consciousness, while Charity remained in police custody, insisting she should be charged. Mack was grilled by the police, where he defended Charity, and later after the interview, his family decided to leave him to recover.
It was at this point that Charity, who was released by the police earlier, appeared in Mack's hospital room, where she broke down in tears and apologised to him, declaring her love before ending things in order to protect him. However, viewers were left confused as to how Charity was able to visit Mack in hospital and how no one noticed her in the room.
Corrie's Sue Cleaver says I'm A Celebrity stint helped her to push boundariesTaking to Twitter, now X, one person said: "The place is crawling with coppers and Charity just breezes in for a visit after being arrested for stabbing him ? #Emmerdale", a different account put: "i'm sure charity would be left unattended after nearly killing the guy who is in the same hospital #emmerdale..." while another pointed out: "Wouldn't Charity have been warned to stay away from the hospital? She's just been allowed to wander anywhere while investigations are ongoing? #emmerdale."
Later in the episode, things took a heartbreaking turn when Charity isolated herself at home despite Cain trying to support her. It comes as Lawrence Robb and Emma Atkins, who play Mack and Charity, opened up about their future on the soap, as well as the future for their characters' romance too.
Lawrence, who plays Mack, told The Mirror and other press: "I hope [they don’t split up.] But as always it’s Emmerdale and drama happens. Working with Emma and the family that Charity and the Dingles have is great. I think it might build and cement their relationship further is what I think and hope for. I hope things will come to fruition but time will tell."
Asked what she thought might happen for the pair, Emma - who plays Charity - is hopeful they could make it work in the future, despite her character's own struggles and what happened between them.
