Our Yorkshire Farm's Amanda Owen says single life is 'tough' after split

Our Yorkshire Farm's Amanda Owen has said single life is "tough" following her split from Clive.

The star revealed last year that she was separating from Clive Owen who she had been married to for 22 years as well as having nine children together.

The pair managed to find fame on the Channel 5 show which followed their life on their farm, Ravenseat, in Swaledale, North Yorkshire.

However, despite keeping busy with other TV appearances, Amanda has said that she has found it "tough" since splitting from her husband but says they "just have to get on with it".

However, she says they have worked out a routine when it comes to looking after their children.

Speaking to the Radio Times Amanda said: "Look, there are two simple facts: if he thought I was brilliant, and I thought he was brilliant, then we wouldn’t have separated.

"It’s a fact, isn’t it? But, you know what, that’s not unique, it’s just how things are, pressures, all the rest of it. But we have nine kids, with associated friends, girlfriends, and we just have to get on with it."

After their separation, Amanda started to film a new More4 documentary, called Amanda Owen’s Farming Lives which is her first series on her own without Clive.

She said that her time away from the children has to be carefully planned, meaning she has to film in small sections.

Amanda explained: "We go for the three-day rule: three days is the maximum number of sandwich boxes and stuff that we can get prepared and the maximum amount of carnage that I can cope with on my return."

The mum-of-nine's upcoming series sees her visiting other working farms across the UK, exploring their innovative methods and the challenges of the cost-of-living crisis.

Despite amassing multiple TV series and a range of books, Amanda has said that she doesn't see herself as a celebrity but admits that many of her side projects earn her more money than working on the farm.

Amanda and Clive first found TV stardom when they appeared in ITV's The Dales in 2022, before they landed their own Channel 5 show Our Yorkshire Farm in 2018.
