Death In Paradise fans were left thrilled when a 'missing' character returned to screens tonight after a lengthy absence.

Tonight, viewers were overjoyed to see Harry the lizard back on the BBC detective drama after failing to appear at all this series. Fans had been growing increasingly concerned for where Harry might be, even taking to social media to express their concern over where the CGI lizard might have been as the show airs its next episode.

Tonight, DI Neville Parker and his team investigates a murder in the midst of an island-wide blackout, but who committed the murder and will the team be able to crack the case in time? Neville is also busy chatting with his mysterious Sunset Chaser, but who is the person behind the screen, and is this Neville's chance to find love?

Sharing their excitement at Harry's return tonight, one fan wrote: "Oh thank god! We can stand down our fight now. Let’s hope this is the start of you being back on our screens every episode," whilst a second added: "Made my day thank goodness something to look forward to." A third took to social media to share: "And all is right with the world again."

"Oh thank goodness. My gosh. That was a worry. Harry's Army can stand down this week #HarrysArmy #DeathinParadise," a fourth penned, with a fifth adding: "Phew can put away the placard’s. Getting ready to march."

Fans have been hopeful that the mysterious Sunset Chaser might be Neville's former love interest DS Florence Cassell.

"I think that Neville’s blog is very Neville, in that, he’s fascinated by science and geometry and the natural world. It’s not a blog that I would write, but he decides it is going to be about his time on the island," Ralf said of Neville's decision to start a blog.

"It’s quite interesting and we have a nice joke about it in the show saying, 'I’m sure lots of people out there would be interested to see the life of a British detective on a Caribbean island…'. That’s the nature of his blog. However, his first article is about conchology, or the study of seashells and it’s Marlon who is very quick to point out that he doesn’t think anyone is going to read this blog."

He added: "No one really reads his blog, unsurprisingly. Apart from one fan, ‘Sunset Chaser’, who gets in touch to say his posts are interesting. The tone is flirty, and they are implied female, so Neville starts having a little bit of an online flirt. Marlon of course, thinks he's being catfished by a guy. And Neville even starts to worry that maybe it could be Sophie who’s messing with his mind."
