Lizzo and her new boyfriend go official with 'hard launch' at pre-Grammys bash

Lizzo brought her boyfriend Myke Wright to last night’s pre-Grammys bash, which she dubbed the “hard launch” for the couple.

The About That Time singer, who is up for five awards at tonight’s ceremony, looked loved-up as she walked the red carpet with her comedian boyfriend.

Wearing a black and blue metallic fringed dress with suspender detail thigh high wedge boots, Lizzo, 34, looked radiant.

Myke, 35, opted for an all black look, and seemed happy to let his partner take centre stage, looking on proudly as she posed for photographers.

Lizzo and Myke have known each other since 2016, and were first spotted on a date in 2021. He has accompanied her to several events - including when she hosted Saturday Night Live last year - but they only recently made their relationship public knowledge.

Speaking to US radio host Howard Stern in December, she said: 'We're not playing any games with each other anymore. We're very much locked in. This is official. There’s nobody else I'm going to be with for the rest of my life.”

She also explained that although there was chemistry between them when they first met, they didn’t properly get together until "when the time was right.”

Lizzo explained: "I had a lot of s**t to do, and I still was very much in my 'I feel un-loveable' place, and I still was very much not where I wanted to be career-wise. Even if a person came around that I was googly gaga about, I had these wild defences up that made it almost impossible for a true, intimate relationship to occur.”

Tonight Lizzo could take home five Grammys. Song About Damn Time is up for Record Of The Year, Song Of The Year and Best Pop Solo Performance. Her album, Special, is in the running for Album Of The Year and Best Pop Vocal Album.
