Donald Trump has said he'll save the US from obliteration in an unhinged speech during the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) today.

The former US president, who is now running for a second term, said a Biden win in the coming election will lead to the US losing World War III. CPAC is the largest pro-Trump conference in the United States.

Ranting to his massed supporters, Trump warned against a Biden victory saying: "He'll soon have us losing World War III. We won't even be in World War III, we'll be losing World War III. With weapons the likes of people have never seen before. These are the stakes of this election."

He added: "The only thing standing between you and obliteration is me. It's true."

Introducing a number of right wing figures from personal supporters like Kari Lake and Seb Gorka to international figures such as Jair Bolsonaro, Trump warned "we're not going to have a country any more," unless issues regarding voting machines are corrected. Trump, who described himself in his speech as a "proud political dissident," has long said his 2020 election defeat was down to election fraud.

Trump claimed that conflicts in Ukraine and Gaza would "have never happened" if he was still in charge. He went on to tell the crowd: “Crooked Joe Biden, you are fired. Get out of here. Get that you’re just destroying our country. You’re fired. Get the hell out of here.”

Repeatedly describing the Democrats as fascists, he said: "With four more years of Biden, the hordes of illegal aliens stampeding across our borders will exceed 40 to 50 million people. Medicare social security, health care and public education will buckle and collapse."

Describing his plan for the border, Trump said: “It will be the largest deportation in the history of our country and we have no choice.”

Addressing the numerous charges against, legal and civil, he claimed he is innocent saying: "The only crime I’ve committed is defending America."

He flitted from topic to topic but focusing on key campaigning pounts such as law enforcement, foreign policy, election fraud and immigration. Promising immunity for police he said: “We have the greatest law enforcement people in the world but they’re not allowed to do their job.”

It comes as Trump supporters warned there will be a "civil war" in America if the ex-President loses this year's election. Thousands of Donald Trump fans flocked to CPAC - with many giving stark warnings about what will happen if their guy doesn't win in November.

"If it was like 2020 I think there'll be probably, likely, a civil war. Or some kind of revolution," Carina Hunt, from Texas, told the Mirror. "If they try that again and are successful, with duping the results, I think people have woken up enough that they won't stand for it and there'll be a revolution. Just like we did against you all in the 1700s."

Margaret Kochman from Long Island, New York. added: ”We're headed for a revolution. That's what we are heading for. They're already taking up arms, right? They already are arming them themselves."

Her husband Matthew said: "It's a very sad situation where everything is going. There is no protection from the police, right? The police have their their hands tied." Mrs Kochman added: "The army is woke."

Trump fans spent hours lining up to enter CPAC so they could watch the former president speak on Saturday. A fan even said: " I'll be here all day."

Liz Truss watched Mr Trump’s speech from the VIP section near the stage - sitting next to Nigel Farage.

On Thursday Ms Truss raised eyebrows by suggesting Mr Farage should be re-admitted to the Conservative Party, saying she would work with him and that he would “help turn our country around.”

Mr Trump launched into an extended, rambling routine mocking President Biden, mimicking his voice and movements.

“I would never have spoken about him because of the respect I have for the office,” he said. “But once I got indicted the first time, I said the gloves have to come off.”

He denied his ramblings were due to a “cognitive problem”, saying “You know it’s all genius, right? If there was a cognitive problem I’d no about it.”

"I loved it," said Blake Zumma from Texas after the speech. "I loved it. I mean, I think he's very entertaining and energetic. And I just like to watch him."

It's the third time Ms Zumma has seen Mr Trump speak, and she came as part of a group who had dressed up in bright T-shirts spelling out TRUMP for the occasion. She added: "Today's was so comical. I liked it all. I mean, I like how he hops around."

Drag performer Ryan Woods, otherwise known as Miss MAGA USA agreed the ex president had seemed "youthful and enthusiastic."

He said: "i have no idea how he does jt, he has way more energy than me. He has more energy than a 14 year old."

Asked whether he'd been comfortable with the anti-trans rhetoric used by many speakers at the conference, Mr Woods said: "Nobody cares if an adult person is trans. Who cares, live your life, get a boob job.

"I'm a libertarian at heart. And so live your life, but stay the heck away from children."

British politicians Liz Truss and Nigel Farage also made an appearance at the right-wing conference, with the UK's worst-ever Prime Minister hailed as a "modern Margaret Thatcher" by conference attendees. Many Trump devotees in Washington DC called for Ms Truss to be given a second chance after the "deep state" sabotaged her stint in office - and they called for Mr Farage to be made Prime Minister because he has "the English people's interests at heart".

Liz Truss gave a speech to a half-empty hall on Thursday, branding Joe Biden "weak". On Friday, Trump diehard Nigel Farage took to the stage to speak. And while few attendees had heard of current UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak – or even Ms Truss – former Brexit Party leader Mr Farage has a full-scale fan club at CPAC.

"We love Nigel," Suzanne Monk, from Washington, said. "I am actually friends with Nigel. Yeah. I was just having a smoke with him." Asked if he'd make a good Prime Minister, she said: "Maybe, maybe. I would get to see him less. The security in the smoking room would be a little higher."

Carina Hunt, from Texas, said Mr Farage should "100%" be made Prime Minister in the future. She added: "I don't get to vote. But I think he has the English people's best interests at heart and not his own self-interest. I think he is a true conservative."
