I visited top-rated lifestyle shops to find the best Mother's Day gifts

Mother's Day is the perfect time to spoil the women who mean the most to you, whether that's a mum, grandma, aunt or a friend who's become a mum. While a Mother's Day card is a lovely gesture, you might want to go one step further this year and give them a present, too.

For me, there are several key shops I target whenever I want to find a lovely gift so on a mission to find the best Mother's Day gifts around in 2024, I went to The White Company, Le Creuset, Neom, Jo Malone, John Lewis and Marks & Spencer. With a wide variety of homeware and beauty pieces to suit all kinds of personalities and tastes stocked at these stores, I knew I was bound to stumble across a treasure or two and I wasn't disappointed.

All of the shops I went to had their new collections of spring items out on display making it a truly difficult job to narrow down, but there were a few products that stood out. Several of them even had dedicated Mother's Day collections to make it even easier.

My first port of call was Marks & Spencer where I was met with a beautiful display to take my pick from. If the person you are buying for is a candle fan, they may know a thing or two about the iconic M&S light-up candles as they've been an incredibly popular product since their launch a few years back. Originally released for Christmas, this year Marks & Spencer has released them for spring - and the Blooming Lovely design is a gorgeous choice for Mother's Day.

The £10 candle has the scent of fresh flowers and once lit triggers the LED lights embedded in the glass to turn on and emit a beautiful glow. I bought one of the light-up candles for myself last Christmas and it lasted a good couple of weeks so for £10, I think this is a great Mother's Day present.

I was also drawn in by the collection of Mother's Day-themed mugs Marks & Spencer had to offer - as my own mum is never without a cup of tea in hand! While I had already spotted the Emma Bridgewater 'Mum' mug online at M&S, I loved the look of this simple Floral Check Mug for £6 and if you are buying for a child, these £10 Mummy & Mini Mugs are adorable.

Speaking of kitchenware, next on my list was premium brand Le Creuset. Their popular crockery has earned its place at the top of most foodies' wishlists and while their pieces are definitely more of a luxury Mother's Day gift, you can find more affordable options if you take advantage of their deals.

After browsing the shelves, I instantly fell in love with their latest colourway 'Shell Pink' - a soft, pastel pink with a touch of white and thought it was perfect for Mother's Day. Their Cast Iron Shallow Casserole Dish is the pot of dreams but at £249 it might be more than you were looking to spend so their £20 Stoneware Mugs are a great alternative if you still wanted to treat someone to a Le Creuset piece. Jo Malone was my next location as their fragrances and candles are a timeless pick that are bound to impress. Straight away I spotted that they had a new range of perfumes in three floral scents that are absolutely ideal for Mother's Day - Rose Amber, Rose Blush and Rose Magnolia. Each one has slightly different notes, but my personal favourite was Rose Amber with notes of rose, lemon and honey. The packaging is heavenly and would look amazing on a bedroom dresser or bathroom side.

Last but by no means least, I popped to The White Company leaving myself ample time as I knew it would be a hot spot for beautiful Mother's Day gifts. As someone who has smelt all The White Company fragrances, my overall favourite is their Wild Mint Peppermint White Tea as its fresh and calming aroma is perfect to scent the home for spring. They have a Fragrance Oil and a Candle, but when in-store, their £35 Wild Mint Diffuser caught my eye for a Mother's Day present.

They also had a gorgeous Rustic Heart Oak Board for £40 which you could gift alone, or bake a cake and serve it on. It had a quality, weighty feel to it and the sweet heart shape is naturally a perfect fit to show someone just how much they mean to you.
