These H&M Home pieces will help give your home the perfect spring makeover
Popular high-street store H&M is known for giving fashion inspiration for our wardrobes when they need a bit of an update. But in the last few years, the retailer's homeware section has truly stepped up its game, growing a pretty good reputation for helping us deck out our homes in the most beautiful of interior staples.
From Scandi-inspired items, such as this gorgeous wooden side table with fluted sides (£139.99) and this lovely oatmeal coloured wool-blend blanket, £14.99, to seasonal décor for the likes of Easter and candles that make your home smell like a spa, the H&M home section on its website and in store is a magical place for anyone who wants to make their home cosy, beautiful and luxurious without breaking the bank too much - plus, it's got some great pieces to help Spring-ify your home with pastels, florals and gorgeous bright colours.
If you love a good Dunelm visit or thrive off TKMaxx's home section, H&M Home is another interior dreamland you need to visit. I say this as a total interior nerd who is currently in the midst of turning a total blank canvas house into a cosy, personal space. There's something for every kind of style at these stores, from bright and bold colours like pink and peach - which is touted to be the colours of the season, alongside sky blue - to more muted, soft bohemian tones and thematic seasonal ornaments that'll be perfect on your Easter table.
While scrolling for hours on the website can be fun, it can also be relatively overwhelming with so many options at your fingertips. Hoping to make your interior shopping a little easier, I've had a gander at some of H&M's latest homeware products to try and offer some furnishing inspiration for your next retail therapy trip (especially with payday this weekend).
Starting off seasonally, H&M's Easter-themed collection is completely adorable - whilst also being pretty chic. And while you may think I'm a little early in my excitement at sprinkling my home with pastel-coloured hangings and ornaments, some of what's on offer is too sweet not to share.
Kate Middleton swears by £19.99 rosehip oil that helps 'reduce wrinkles & scars'If you're hosting a roast with all the trimmings this year for all your family on Easter Sunday, then you need to get your hands on some of H&M's porcelain kitchenware, such as this gorgeous fluted edge, leaf-like sage green £9.99 dish, matching serving bowl for £6.99 and cup and saucer for £14.99 . If you're home is sparkling with more pink items, this rose and white striped plate, £6.99, is the perfect pastel shade and brings an extra dimension to the table with its chic pattern.
Continue the rosy theme with a £39.99 linen-blend tablecloth and matching napkins (2-piece is £6.99). For something unmistakably on trend, this £12.99 glazed stoneware figurine is "the cutest Easter ornament" that shoppers describe as "very classy", adding that they "could have this out all year round." Take your table setting one step further and have adorable silver bunny place card holders for £9.99 (two pack).
Helping you to set the mood is this eight-pack of gorgeous deep pastel orange, yellow and green thin tapered candles, four of which are twisted and four straight. For £9.99, it's a lovely addition to ensure your table looks elegant whilst adding some extra light and ambience. If you're going all out on the Easter decs, pop a few of these £4.99 speckled egg-shaped baubles on your favourite plant - these cardboard egg-shaped baubles in lovely earthy tones that come in a six-pack for £9.99 and bunny shape for £3.99 are equally as adorable and less breakable - perfect if you have kids!
Okay, enough of the Easter content.
I spotted this cone lamp in griege on H&M's website and thought it would be the perfect addition for a warm and scandi-inspired or bohemian themed room with natural elements. It's also a dead-ringer for the a more expensive Cannes table lamp - which is £145 from Globen Lighting. The metal table lamp has a cone-shaped shade and is only £34.99 - £25.99 for members - and comes in five different colours, each emitting the same warm, diffused light.
Adding some bright, floral-patterned cushions is always a great way to spruce up an otherwise dull-looking space - especially with spring on the horizon - and these double-sided dragon-fly and poppy-decorated cushions, £9.99, whose colours are light beige, orange, light green and powder pink are great if you're switching from dark and moody wintery decor to more pastel vibes.
If you're a fan of the furniture brand Swoon, then you'll want to hear this - H&M has a number of piece that I've found to look pretty similar to some of Swoon's Raphia range - for less. For example, this drinks cabinet that's finished off with 1970s rattan detailing is £769, while H&M's taller cabinet will save you £300 at £299.99.
Its bedside table counterpart will also save you over £100 as Swoon's dark brown acacia and rattan alternative is £259. Of course, there are some elements that make it more expensive - brass detailing on the legs and simple brass handles, pull out drawer as opposed to a drop down one - but if you're looking for a gorgeous piece for your bedroom and want to try and save some money and you're not too fussed on the brass, H&M is a fantastic alternative.
With spring in our midst, we all want to be filling our homes with the most gorgeous of flowers and plants - and why not put them in an equally as gorgeous vase or pot?
To really make your flowers and their colours pop, this gorgeous stoneware fluted vase comes in a bright white hue (and a mustard yellow option) and has a lovely staggered design that makes it look way more expensive than its £19.99.
Argos shoppers rush to buy Hy-Pro Football Table that's slashed to half priceOne shopper who gave the vase a five star review raved: "The quality and style easily matched similar more expensive products in the market. It's very versatile and looks good with greenery or just empty."
Alternatively, this glass pink patterned vase, which has a Murano glass feel, has an elegant flared rim that allows the flowers to spread out and sit beautifully - while gorgeous pink and yellow confetti-like spots decorate the vase.
For a plant pot rather than a vase, H&M has this reactive-glaze pot, £19.99, which features a playful and bubbly surface which the glossy glaze created a variegated colouring, meaning each pot is unique. It's a great way to add texture into a plain room.
If you don't want to spend £20 on a vase, however, the H&M sale has this gorgeous ceramic vase for £9 (from £29.99) which has a handmade feel and looks "more expensive" thanks to its 'beautiful' matte texture.
While H&M is a great place to stock up on kitchenware and decorations for your house, it's also got a stunning array of bedding that'll inject some texture, personality and colour into your bedroom. For example, this brand new luxurious soft Muslin duvet cover set is £69.99 and comes in six different muted pastel colours from sage to light brown to sky blue. If you're into stripes rather than plain sets, this £39.99 set in a cotton weave with a thread count of 144 comes in green, grey, beige and blue and "blends well with neutral bedroom tones".
One interiors fan said: "You just can't beat H&M bedding for quality. Always washes beautifully - I only now buy H&M or IKEA bedding. This looks so much more expensive than it is and blends well with neutral bedroom tones."
If you're a bit bored of neutrals and enjoy bright pops of colour, H&M has a wide selection of colourful bedding sets - but my favourite is this pink cotton set for £34.99 that is in a hot pink hue and is sure to make a statement in your bedroom - especially if paired with this pink and orange floral blanket for £34.99. While this may be perfect for those who want a more bold look, some may find it a bit much, which is why I've found this gorgeous gingham pattern for you that's £39.99.
For the kiddies, this £24.99 strawberry set is adorable but it comes in alternative patterns such as dinosaurs and vehicles. Deck out their room in this adorable tufted alphabet rug (£49.99) or encourage them to play hopscotch on this braided jute rug (£34.99). Pair it with this braided storage basket that comes with an adorable bear-face design complete with ears for £27.99. For those who are a bit auto-mobile obsessed, switch out a simple table lamp for this car-shaped green wall lamp, £34.99. If rainbows are your kids' thing, this duvet set is adorned with them for £19.99 and pairs gorgeous with this bamboo rainbow-shaped hanging rack (£14.99). For the entire kids room collection at H&M see here.
It's important to note, too, that members of H&M's loyalty scheme get 20% certain items - and those who are new to signing up get 10% off their first purchase.
Of course, H&M isn't the only fashion brand to offer some gorgeous homeware items - Urban Outfitters is one place that offers stylish home decor - and it's currently got a sale on which includes this which is a vintage-effect jute 'Emmy' rug that now costs £70 from £109. Its Myla White Floral Duvet Set, that is adorned with wild flowers is now £32 from £40.
