Maya Jama has given fans an inside look at the Love Island watch party she attended to celebrate her presenting debut on the ITV2 dating show.

The 28-year-old TV star was joined by her pals in the UK as she and she and guests watched the first episode of the new Love Island series, taking place in South Africa, on Monday night.

For the celebration, a pal of Maya's had created a cocktail menu inspired by the dating show, with tipples called Picante De La Casa Amor, Bombshell, Jama Juice and Hideaway.

A string of Maya's celebrity pals attended the celebration – including YouTube sensation Chunkz and rapper Poet.

Before the show got underway, Maya posted a video showing off the decorated cinema room with big comfy chairs and a huge screen to enjoy the first episode of the series.

Each of the seats had an inflatable on, while a bar was placed at the back of the room for Maya's pals to grab their Love Island-themed tipple.

Speaking from behind the camera, Maya gushed over the bash organised by her pal as she said: "Aww look! How cute! Abuk did all this so we can watch – cute, cute!"

In another clip, Maya held up a box containing a bottle of Ace of Spades champagne, which retails at £300. Thanking her pal for the gift in the video, the presenter said: "Look what Mitch got me. Lovely!"

Another piece of footage shows her friends cheering as she appears on screen, arriving in the Love Island villa in a helicopter.

As the stunning former Radio DJ made her on-screen debut, viewers of the ITV dating show took to social media to praise Maya.

While a third swooned: "MAYA JAMA IS GIVING….. jesus, that woman is sensational #LoveIsland".

Maya previously revealed she's been a fan of Love Island "for years".

She said: "I've been a fan for years. It was the first reality show, other than Big Brother, that I made sure I was back at a certain time to watch and all my friends and family were speaking about. Everyone gets involved.

"Everyone has opinions - from the older people in your family to the younger ones. It’s just fun, it’s fun to see how people play out in different situations and wonder what you would do if you were in the same position."

The presenter is hopeful this year's crop of singletons are ready to get "stuck in".

Asked what makes a good Islander, she said: "Someone that’s looking for love, someone with a lively personality, somebody who is open and shares their feelings, but also someone that’s not afraid to keep their options open and test the waters.

"Just someone that’s willing to get stuck in and get fully involved in every bit of the experience and all the challenges. Make the most of it! And allow it to be a proper test and see if your relationship can carry on through that, rather than play it safe."
