An ex of Carrick said she was raped and strangled by the former Met Police officer who threatened to plant drugs in her car if she tried to leave him.

David Carrick, 48, who was in the Diplomatic Protection Command and boasted about protecting the PM, appeared at Southwark Crown Court where he admitted 49 offences against 12 women between 2003 and 2020.

The 49 offences Carrick has admitted to include 24 counts of rape, nine of sexual assault; five of assault by penetration; three of coercive and controlling behaviour; three of false imprisonment; two of attempted rape; one of attempted sexual assault by penetration and one of causing a person to engage in sexual activity without consent, and one indecent assault.

An ex, who was questioned by police but says that she did not file a formal complaint our of fear of reliving the trauma, has described how Carrick would tell her, ‘I can kill you without leaving any evidence’ during his brutal campaign of abuse.

He would restrain her with police-issued handcuffs and boast about his power as an officer, who guarded the Prime Minister, she claims.

She also described how he would beat her if she refused to engage in “weird, crazy” sex and on one occasion he forced her to drink his urine in the shower as punishment.

She said: “I didn’t know how to get out of this situation because he’s abusive and he does bad stuff, but at the same time he says, ‘sorry, but you made me do that’.

“It took me a while to realise this was abusive relationship.”

She added: “One time he said to me, ‘I can kill you without leaving any evidence because I work in the police’.”

Carrick is also accused by of taking control of her finances and attempting to isolate her from her family - and even went on to start tracking her movements on a Find my Friends app, reports the Guardian.

She claims that he would also insist she turn off social media if he saw she was active online.

Disturbing accounts of his home life also included claims of hoards of pornography, with his ex saying he became obsessed with emulating violent, sexual acts.

Carrick’s mother Jean has also spoken out against her son, revealing she reported him to the authorities when he was just a teenager after a serious allegation of abuse was made against him.

Jean also said she believed her son joined the Army aged 19 because he ‘wanted to travel around” and also because he “wanted to carry a weapon”.

Nicknamed "B*****d Dave" by his Met Police colleagues, he was allowed to remain on the force despite being accused of rape, assault, harassment, burglary and domestic abuse.

Anti-corruption detectives are themselves now under investigation after failing to check his appalling history when he was arrested for rape in July 2021.
