Petrolheads will soon be able to watch Ferrari at home as the hotly anticipated sports biopic makes its TV debut. From Heat and Collateral director Michael Mann, the film follows the titular Enzo Ferrari, a former race car driver and founder of the Ferrari car manufacturer.

Ferrari is penned by the late The Italian Job writer Troy Kennedy Martin, based on Brock Yates’ 1991 biography, Enzo Ferrari: The Man, the Cars, the Races, the Machine. Starring Oscar-nominated Star Wars actor Adam Driver and Oscar-winner Penélope Cruz, the film takes place in the summer of 1957, behind the spectacle of Formula 1 as ex-racer Enzo Ferrari is in crisis.

Bankruptcy threatens the factory he and his wife, Laura built from nothing ten years earlier, while their volatile marriage has been battered by the loss of their son, Dino. Ferrari also struggles to acknowledge his son Piero with Lina Lardi.

Meanwhile, his drivers’ passion to win pushes them to the edge as they launch into the treacherous 1,000-mile race across Italy, the Mille Miglia. Driver and Cruz star alongside Shailene Woodley as Lina Lardi, Sarah Gadon as Linda Christian, Gabriel Leone as Alfonso de Portago, Jack O’Connell as Peter Collins, and Patrick Dempsey as Piero Taruffi.
