Louise Thompson's fiancé has broken his month-long silence following her hospital stay by paying an emotional tribute.

Ryan Libbey gushed over the "awe inspiring" Made In Chelsea star while admitting he felt "somewhat responsible" for not noticing her symptoms. The 33-year-old TV personality was rushed to hospital after returning to the UK from a holiday in Antigua due to her being left in agonising pain.

Louise spent over two weeks in hospital before being able to return home to Ryan and their two-year-old son Leo-Hunter. She returned to her social media to share health updates with fans, while admitting she would be spending a lot of time in hospital in the coming weeks.

Ryan decided to break his month-long social media silence by sharing a snap from their holiday. Alongside the post, he shared a lengthy message as he wrote: "I haven’t posted in over a month. Here's why.... In all honesty, I have no idea where to even begin with this post. There’s a thousand things rattling around in my head and plenty of emotions weighing heavy on my heart.

"As much as I want to offer full transparency to you, with the situation we are in now, my preferred option is to be as positive as I can be and thankful for what we do have. And what we do have is Louise back at home, after 16 days in hospital. The reality is that Louise was very unwell, arguably has been for some time. Suffering with a condition called Ulcerative Colitis, going through periods of remission and flare ups throughout our 7 year relationship together."

He emotionally admitted: "I feel somewhat responsible for not paying more attention to her symptoms and maybe forcing her hand with seeking medical help sooner. In true Louise spirit, she has trucked on with life, offering so much love and happiness to everyone around her, not wanting to put anyone out and prioritising everyones happiness and enjoyment over hers, but meanwhile suffering inside so badly with this condition.

"Louise is the most humble, most resilient, most caring person I’ve ever met. She doesn’t deserve even an ounce of what she’s been through over the past few years, but the way she has dealt with this setback, adjusted and accepted, is awe inspiring. I couldn’t be more proud of her at this time."

Ryan continued: "In situations like this, it is heartbreaking knowing that you cant take the pain away for your loved ones, or trade places. Believe me there have been many times when I have wished that I could be the one in hospital and not her. All I can do is look after her and Leo to the best of my ability and that is a promise I have made to them and myself.

"January 2024 didn’t go to plan. We had to cut our family holiday in Antigua short by a week and take an emergency flight home. The morning we landed Louise went straight into A&E. Little did we know at this stage that she would face weeks in hospital recovering from major surgery.

"Now that I’ve managed to hit post and share this with you, I’m hoping to share some holiday moments from the Caribbean to brighten up my day (and hopefully yours). Lastly, thank you all so much for your messages of love and support to me and my family. It means an awful lot xxx."

Louise has been diagnosed with a number of health issues that she will battle for the rest of her life. In 2018, she was diagnosed with ulcerative colitis - a medical condition that causes inflammation of the lower end of the digestive system, including the large bowel and rectum. She also had a traumatic birth where she suffered a haemorrhage and lost three litres of blood. Louise was diagnosed with post-traumatic stress following the birth as well as lupus.

Last week Louise shared how she had returned home. She told fans: “I am a STRONG COOKIE and I am working hard on a speedy recovery.⁣⁣ And there will be a silver lining. I promise I’m already searching for it. Already found a few nuggets. ⁣⁣ A nice little reminder that health is everything. It must always come first first first. Along with my family and my son.⁣⁣”
