Rebecca Ferguson issued a warning to her daughter who hopes to follow in her footsteps.

The singer shot to fame on the X Factor back in 2010 where she placed second after Matt Cardle. She has since opened up on the toxic experience she had after the ITV show, and claimed she was “mentally manipulated, bullied and abused”. Rebecca admitted her life became hell when she fell out with two high-powered figures within the industry.

Rebecca bravely shared her own experiences in the hopes of making a change to working practices. Despite her own experience in the entertainment industry, it appears to not have put off her daughters. The Nothing's Real But Love hitmaker is mum to Lillie, 19, Karl, 17, Arabella, 9 and welcomed a baby boy last year.

Speaking to The Mirror, Rebecca shared: "My daughter [Lillie] wants to be a singer, and she's actually said to me now, 'mum this is what I really, really wanna do for so long'. I was like 'oh god, you don't wanna do that, do you?' I'm going on to do some songwriting with her actually at the end of March.

"We're going in to do some songwriting together with a DJ so that'll be good to see what comes out of that." Rebecca and youngest daughter Arabella are also gearing up to start their own YouTube channel together, as he daughter is "obsessed". She told us: "We're gonna do fun little videos together. Everything that I do now just about ways incorporates with my family and just to be able to just enjoy it. I just feel really lucky but very busy."

She admitted: "I'll give it a go. Even if I do one or two and leave the comments off cos I think it's the comments that are not good sometimes, but we'll see. She's desperate to do it with me and I think it's a nice thing to do to spend time with her." When asked how it felt to speak out about industry bullying, Rebecca admitted it was "liberating".

She shared: "I felt free. I felt like I was being a strong woman, and I felt like it was about time. I'm just happy that I got it all off my chest and that it's actually gonna do something really positive. I just feel like it's important for everyone. You see bad stuff going on that just isn't for 2024, you've got to just call out and say 'come on times are changed, mate'.

"I just think for the for the kids, for our future, we just don't wanna have certain things happen that we wouldn't want to happen to our children." Reflecting on her own experiences, Rebecca revealed it would have been totally different if measures she's fought for her in place. "If those were in place, I think I would have had a much a much different experience," she shared. "I would have had somewhere to go to."
