The Chase contestants occasionally find themselves getting a little bit of "side-eye" from their fellow players thanks to a "greedy" decision, one star of the ITV series has revealed.

Chaser Jenny Ryan spoke exclusively to The Mirror about filming for the hit ITV quiz show, revealing the drama that fans do not always get to see. Viewers love to have their say on the show online, with them often judging a contestant for making any wrong decisions.

One such move that often leads to judgement is the player taking the lower or the minus offer, but apparently this isn't what causes the biggest drama on set. According to Jenny, it's something else that often leads to awkwardness between the players, with her revealing some quizzers are met with side-eye from the group thanks to one "greedy" decision.

Jenny told us that it can often be more dramatic on set if a quizzer takes the higher offer on the show instead of prioritising getting back for the final round, while players ignoring the pleas and advice from the rest of the group also unsettles them. Speaking about the "drama" between the contestants, Jenny confessed she didn't envy the players.

She told us: "Occasionally there is a bit of side-eye if they have gone against the advice of the team. Actually it's more often if they have gone for the higher offer, if they've been advised to go for the low offer.

"It's like a, 'I can't believe they've taken that risk', it's a huge risk. It's much more important to get all of the players back to the final, there's more chance of winning. It's a tough decision to make though so I don't envy anyone making that decision, poor contestants!"

She went on: "I've noticed recently that contestants have particularly noticed it's tactically astute to go for that minus offer, whether it is big or small. Anyone that can put their pride aside and play for the team and take the low offer as a consensus, I agree with it.

"If it is someone being a bit cheeky or greedy I understand that furore." Jenny also spilled on the things people don't see that are not included in the show.

The star revealed that host Bradley Walsh gets himself into all kinds of trouble, from bloopers, to blunders and some comments that can't be aired. Jenny also revealed how long it takes to film each episode of the show, which airs for an hour on ITV including advert breaks.

According to Jenny, on a "good day" it can take almost double that amount of time to film if not longer depending on what happens. She told us: "It will take on a really good day one hour and 40 minutes, two hours maximum... which is around how long it takes to get my hair and makeup done!"

It's then that she detailed all the unaired scenes on the show that she confessed don't even make it into the bloopers. Host Bradley seems to cause carnage on set, disrupting filming and no doubt making it all take longer to finish.

She explained: " There's all sorts of stuff. There is so much stuff that Bradley says or he does, sometimes breaking the set accidentally or falling off the steps. That all gets cut out, it doesn't even make it into the bloopers. I'm hoping that one day we are gonna have a mega bloopers, and it's just gonna be Brad falling down or saying something very silly."

The Chase airs weekdays at 5pm on ITV1 and ITVX.* Follow Mirror Celebs and TV on , , , , , and .
