Lorraine Kelly has shared a new makeup-free selfie and has been flooded with praise.

The presenter who recently took a period of leave from her role on ITV, hosting her self-titled show has still been busy but swapped the TV studio to promote her debut novel. Lorraine, 64, recently released The Island Swimmer which has been praised by critics who claimed it had a "beautiful ending".

Upon her return to ITV, the star was met with a surprise welcome from her colleagues who went all out to celebrate its release and recent success, leaving Lorraine completely blown away. Taking to Instagram, she shared a snap looking in shock as she posed alongside balloons.

Going makeup-free, Lorraine looked extremely different as she rocked a dark-coloured velour tracksuit and what appeared to be slippers on her feet. Lorraine's surprise celebration comes just days after she addressed an account on X, formerly Twitter, which appears to monitor when she's working.

The Scottish-native was appearing on BBC Radio 4's Woman's Hour with host Gemma Cairney, when she was asked about X account 'Where is Lorraine?', which has been posting regularly about the Scottish star. Gemma asked her guest about her absences: "Does that mean you will be taking more time away from Lorraine?"

She replied that she was bemused about the amount of time some people devote to her. She said: "The amount of space I occupy in people's heads is quite bizarre." Gemma then asked about the X account: "There is a satire account set up on X tracking your appearances on the show, it's got 10,000 followers".

Lorraine said that she was not stressing over it: "It's fine, I don't mind, I don't care. Probably would have cared before but I really don't now, it's absolutely fine. To be honest, you should never comment on things like that if you don't know what's going on in people's lives."
