A clock which has been certified as the largest in the world hangs high above the ground above Mecca in Saudi Arabia.

The Megaclock is at home on the Makkah Royal Clock Tower - which is also the fourth tallest building on Earth, standing at 601m or 1,972ft. The building which is home to serviced apartments, a hotel and shops has 120 floors and its construction was finished in 2012.

The clock tower is located in the city of Mecca, the holiest place in the Islamic world and sees more than 926,000 visitors a year. The tower was part of a multimillion pound scheme to see the area modernised. It is the centrepiece of the government-owned Abraj Al Bait Complex, which also has seven luxury skyscraper hotels.
