Adam Sandler slammed for 'tone deaf' and 'unfunny' People's Choice Awards speech
Adam Sandler went up to accept his People's Choice Awards icon gong, but left fans far from impressed after Jennifer Aniston introduced him to the stage.
He actor performed a comedy sketch where he pretended he had prepared a speech thinking he was getting award for People's Sexiest Man Alive. During his quirky acceptance speech, he made everyone blush by jokingly saying: "Thank you for recognising me as the man who made our entire country the horniest this year."
Adam, known for his role in movies such as Grown Ups, kept laughing at his own jokes throughout which included self-mockery referring to himself as "the most talked about person in the bedroom by couples and throuples during fantasy role play and sloppy time." He also made another joke referencing his "pee pee" which left viewers shocked.

Several fans felt uneasy with his speech and labelled it as a waste of their time. One commented on Twitter: "Is it just me, or did that #AdamSandler segment just drag on and on and on? #PCAs You'd think the guy had invented comedy,".

A third person tweeted: "@AdamSandler 's speech at #peopleschoiceawards very tone deaf. Read the room, Adam. Not funny, even in an unfunny way."
But not everyone agreed, with some fans defending Adam Sandler. "These posts are making it clear who grew up with Adam Sandler and who didn't. Go off King!" said another tweet.
The People's Choice Awards, hosted by actor Simu Liu, took place in Santa Monica, California on February 18. It featured 45 different awards, from Best Movie to Best Athlete. The Barbie Movie took home a number of wins on the night, including Comedy Movie of the Year and Movie of the Year.
