Death In Paradise's Kate Robbins' famous family and where you've seen her before

Kate Robbins will make her debut in Death In Paradise this evening.

The actress will arrive in Saint Marie as a friend of Catherine Bordey - played by Élizabeth Bourgine - who has now returned from looking after her daughter Camille in France. However, she's now back on the island and keen to help the police force the best she can, but things turn tricky when someone is murdered and Kate's character becomes a suspect.

Speaking about Catherine reuniting with an old friend, Elizabeth said: "Kate Robbins is a wonderful woman. She has so many stories and we had a lot of fun. I wanted to ask her a lot of questions as in this episode, we are old friends and we needed to speak to each other to work out what sort of friendship we had before - how we were in life, what experiences we had, the good ones, the bad ones. We had fun and it was really nice to work with her. We discover a part of Catherine’s life that we don't know. Their friendship was very strong when they were young, and I think we understand why and how she’s become so wise."

However, fans may not realise that Kate actually has a very famous family. Her daughter is actress and comedienne Emily Atack and her sister is Amy Robbins, who has been in a string of shows including Coronation Street, where she played Daisy Midgeley's mother and she also starred as Meena Jutla's barrister in Emmerdale a couple of years back.

Kate herself has had some big roles in TV dramas including Unforgotten and EastEnders. Back in 2023, she joined the BBC soap as a pal of Brian Conley’s character Rocky as music producer Jen Glover, who tried to help Whitney Dean with her singing career.

"I am so excited to be joining the show as Jen. We had a ball filming the scenes. Working with the team was a dream," she said of her role at the time, whilst a source added: "Everyone was very excited to get Kate on board for this part, because they felt she was the perfect fit. Not only is she a great actress, but she has plenty of experience of the music industry too."

Amy was part of a group called Prima Donna, who represented the United Kingdom at the Eurovision Song Contest and placed third.
