Nursery worker says one parent habit many are guilty of drives them up the wall

Working in a nursery is no small feat as there are so many children to look after, and sometimes, the parents inadvertently don't make it easy.

Parents will send their toddlers off to preschool in their adorable little outfits, with their favourite teddy in their hands, alongside their water bottle so they can stay hydrated.

But one childcare educator has shared the things they "hate" about their job - and it isn't the children being cheeky, or throwing tantrums. No, the things that grind their gears the most are things that parents do, probably without realising, that the educator wishes they wouldn't.

Taking to TikTok, @childcare_worker4 shared the things that annoy them about their job. First up is "children coming in wearing overalls or dungarees" because it makes it "so hard to change nappies" when they're in an all-in-one. Instead, they wish parents would send them in wearing two pieces, so nappies can be changed easily.

Another issue is parents sending their kids in with the same bottle, and no discernible way to tell the difference between them. They also hate the fact that some parents "call six times in one day" to check up on their little ones, to see whether they're okay.

"Children bringing toys from home which causes arguments between children", they furiously penned on a background of adorable teddies. They also don't like it when children wear "high top" trainers, like Converse, as they're difficult to get onto children's feet - despite the fact they look cute.

"Children that never have spare clothes in their bag" were also seen as an issue to this childcare worker, as obviously, if the child has an accident, there's nothing to change them into. And the final bugbear for this teacher was "the children who come in with designer and branded clothes that can't get dirty."

In the comments, some were quick to criticise the childcare worker, with one fuming: "A parent should be able to call about their child as many times as they want without judgement." Another asked: "Is there anything you actually like about your job? Just asking..."

A designer-brand-loving mum raged: "If I send my kid with nice clothes to daycare that means I'll expect it to get dirty so don't judge my baby's style just because it's name brand." A mum penned: "Imma keep my kids until they start school…the judgment is real and I don't like it."
