Philadelphia Eagles star Jalen Carter has accused San Francisco 49ers player Jon Feliciano of referencing his dead teammate in trash-talk during the Week 13 clash.

After the 49ers lost Super Bowl LVIII to the Kansas City Chiefs, Feliciano attempted to defend his teammate and fellow offensive lineman Colton McKivitz, who was being criticised online for failing to effectively block for Brock Purdy on a crucial play. He insisted it wasn't McKivitz's job, hinting that Spencer Burford should have made the correct block on the play.

Feliciano later apologised to Burford for his outburst on social media and the pair have since cleared the air. However, Carter furiously reacted to the exchange.

Carter shared on Instagram a message about what Feliciano said to him when they played against the 49ers on December 3. The Eagles rookie claims Feliciano used his dead teammate as bait in trash-talk as the 49ers secured a 42-19 win over the NFC East franchise.

Carter wrote on social media: “Same dude who spoke on my dead teammate and the reason I was emotional during our game mmh.”

Carter was referencing Devin Willock's tragic passing in 2023. The incident happened due to a car crash in a street race with Georgia Bulldogs staff member Chandler LeCroy after their National Championship win. LeCroy couldn't control her car and collided with two utility poles, killing both Willock and herself.

Carter was charged with reckless driving and street racing, which he pled no contest to before serving a probation sentence. However, Feliciano decided to hit out at the 22-year-old as his comments went viral.

He claimed Carter threatened his life during the game and went on to harass his family online, writing: “Dude told me he was gonna murder me and my kids would never see me again 3x because I was laughing at him after getting a flag … I said I believe you you got a body. Then he continued for weeks posting my fam n reachin out to my friends.”

Feliciano also said: “If you dish it you gotta be able to take it. He talked about my kids, I made that reference. I lost a friend to an accident too so I understand why he was upset. I did feel bad thought about apologizing until he started posting my kids on his IG then I had to get NFL involved.”

Feliciano reported the incident to the NFL before posting a screenshot from Instagram where Carter had mentioned him and his kids. Feliciano suggested he was ready to move on, though, adding: “The NFL has all the receipts. I'm pass all this tho. I hope the best for him. I take responsibility for my part.”
